Stanley had senior position at RTE

THE DEATH of Stanley Warren (pictured) at the age of 83 took place at his residence, Eden Cottage, 16 Rectory Hall, Castlebrid­ge, on October 5.

Stanley was the second son of the late Christophe­r Warren (nee Rosslier), both from old Wexford families.

His working career was with RTE in Dublin where rose to senior management. He was also chairman of the Managers’ Associatio­n.

Stanley was founder of the Irish Branch of the Royal Television Society and Director of the Irish Film and Television Academy.

He retired early from RTE in 1990 and set up his own communicat­ions company.

Throughout his adult life Stanley was active in the voluntary sector, serving as vice-chairman of Northside Counsellin­g, in Dublin.

When his wife Cora became ill with Alzheimers he joined the Carers’ Associatio­n and became national secretary and a board member.

When he rerturned to live in Wexford, he started a Wexford branch of the Carers’ Associatio­n.

He was also involved in the Castlebrid­ge Show, exhibiting his plants and many paintings. Art was another of his many talents. He had an interest in the Ecumenical Movement and was enthusiast­ically involved in the Wexford Radio programme Regarding IT.

Stanley was always associated with people, their needs were always paramont.He will be sadly missed by all who knew him especially his family and friends.
