Wexford doctor appeals for help in finding stolen papers

-

A doctor at Wexford General Hospital is appealing to the public to keep an eye out for his educational certificates, which were stolen from his home in Coolcotts during a recent break-in.

Dr Anwar Ulhaq, who works in anaesthetics in Wexford General Hospital, returned home recently following a 24-hour shift to find that his home had been burgled. Among the many items stolen were the documents that he obtained in medical school on completing his studies.

‘ They took a lot of things from me but my main concern is my documents. They are of no value to anyone else,’ explained Dr Ulhaq, who said that the documents were inside a laptop case. ‘I don’t expect my laptop or my mobile phone back. They took my clothes too and whatever they could get their hands on. I don’t expect them back. But I am concerned about my documents.’

Dr Ulhaq clarified that none of the documents were confidential or contained any information concerning anybody but himself. He said that he immediately alerted the Gardaí about the robbery and has since located some of the documents. However, he is calling on people to keep an eye out for his remaining papers.

‘As they are worth nothing to anyone else, I am afraid they may be destroyed by somebody,’ he said.

Dr Ulhaq is asking anyone who finds the documents to drop them in to Wexford General Hospital for his attention or contact him on 089 206 4276.
