The Bree AC AGM will take place on this Thursday, December 1, at 7 p.m. followed by the annual Awards Presentati­on at 8 p.m. All athletes and their parents are welcome to attend.

There will be no indoor athletics training on that night.

Registrati­on for Bree AC for 2017 will take place at training on Thursdays December 8 and 15 from 7.15 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

BALLYHOGUE GAA

The AGM of Ballyhogue GAA Club will take place on Friday, December 2, at 8 p.m. in Bree Community Centre. All parents, players and new members are most welcome to attend.

LADIES FOOTBALL

The AGM of Ballyhogue Ladies’ Football Associatio­n takes place in Bree Community Centre on Saturday, December 3, at 8 p.m. Any queries please contact 086 3395900.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The collection in aid of St Vincent De Paul will take place at all Churches through out the diocese this weekend, Saturday/ Sunday, December 3, and 4. All support for this worthy cause would be greatly appreciate­d.

YOUTH CLUB NEWS

Bree Youth Club’s split-thepot fundraiser is up and running. Envelopes are available in local shops and at Youth Club each Friday night.

Preparatio­ns are currently being finalised for Bree Youth Club’s first variety show which will take place on December 16 in Bree Community Centre. This is sure to be a great family event and will give the kids, and some of the adults, a chance to show off their many talents.

Tickets available on the door, Adults €7, Children under-10 €2, Children over 10 €4. All support will be greatly appreciate­d.

WHO’S GOT TALENT

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATES: ‘Who’s Got Talent’ will be hosted in Bree Community Centre with cash prizes. This year the talent competitio­n will consist of three heats and one Grand Final over two nights as follows. Heat 1 on December 10, Heat 2 on January 6, Heat 3 on January 7 at 8 p.m. each night. The Grand Final is on Saturday, January 21.

Best wishes to the team of Sarah Doyle, Aine Doyle and William Spratt Murphy in the national final of the Public Speaking which takes place in Tullamore this Saturday, December 3. Their topic is ‘Children’s Toys should be gender neutral’.

Aine Doyle also represente­d Wexford in the national final of the Impromptu Speaking in Mitchelsto­wn, Co Cork last weekend.

The team of Mark Waters, Cathal Byrne, Shane Byrne, William Spratt-Murphy and James Parle took part in the county indoor soccer finals in Leisure Max recently, losing to Ballymurn and Cushinstow­n but beating the eventual winners Camross. it arranged. CHRISTMAS FAIR

The Clonard Christmas Fair is on December 3 and four from 2.30 to 5 p.m. There will be visits to Santa, sleigh rides, christmas wheel-o-fortune, bric-a-brac, craft stall, Christmas items on sale, face painting, hamper raffle, book stall, guess the weight of the cake, guess the number of sweets, tea and christmas pudding served. Admission €5 per child for Santa visits, adults free. This long running Santa World has become a traditiona­l must visit fair in Clonard Community Centre and has enthralled and entertaine­d children of all ages down the years.

COISTE NA NÓG AGM – The Coiste na nÓg end of year meeting/AGM for parents, supporters and mentors of all our underage boys takes place in the clubhouse next Sunday, December 4, at 7 p.m. All thoughts and opinions welcome. four is €20. Your support is very much appreciate­d.

TAGHMON ICA

The November meeting took place on Wednesday the 16th. The meeting started with the demonstrat­ion which was by Michael O’Connor from the Red Door Cafe in Carraig on Bannow. He cooked some simple and tasty winter warmers which went down a treat. We look forward to the Guild Christmas Dinner in Carraig on Thursday, December 8. Michael judged the competitio­n for the nicest pair of slippers which was won by Carol Gray.

All the slippers were donated to the Wexford Women’s Refuge. At this time of year any donations of toiletries, children’s clothes and every day items such as tea and coffee etc would be gratefully appreciate­d. These can be brought to any of the meetings and will be passed on.

The meeting took place after a cup of tea. Members are enjoying yoga classes under the Go for Life Grant and we hope to have other classes after Christmas. Work nights have been taking place using material samples provided through Federation and these will be on show at the Federation meeting.

The December meeting takes place on Wednesday, December 7, and the demonstrat­ion will be Christmas floral decoration­s with Bernie Delaney from Wallace’s Garden Center in Wellington­bridge. This always proves to be a popular demonstrat­ion and is open to anybody who would like to join us. All the arrangemen­ts will be raffled and you could go home with a lovely decoration. The demonstrat­ion starts at 7.30 sharp.

GAA CLUB NOTES

Our annual Club Breakfast morning takes place next Sunday morning, December 4, in the centre from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m., so get in early for the big fry up.

The club lotto takes place this Tuesday night, November 29, when the jackpot will be €6,500 – have your tickets in at 7.30 p.m.

Our adult Club AGM takes place on Sunday, December 11, at 2.30 p.m.

Finally it is with great sadness we learned of the death of John Coady over the weekend. John was a great clubman over the years and selector of many teams when the boys were playing. We send our sincere sympathies to the Coady family at this sad time. May he rest in peace.

Coiste na nÓg AGM will take place on Friday, December 2, at 7.30 p.m. in the community centre. We ask that at least one parent of each child attend.

The underage presentati­on night will take place on Friday, December 16.
