If your children have outgrown their jerseys maybe you would like to pass them onto the less fortunate children in Palestine who would be thrilled to have them. COMMUNITY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €8,400. The winning numbers were 13, 15, 17 and 20. Congratula­tions to the five match-three winners who received €60 each. The matchthree winners were Ita Bates, Evan and Emmet, Vicky Cloney, Jack Murphy, Lee Kelly. The next lottery will be held on Tuesday, November 29, and the jackpot now stands at €8,700.

Lotto Christmas Break – Rathangan Parish lotto will be taking their annual Christmas break. The last draw for 2016 will be held on December 20 and will resume again on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. We would like to take this opportunit­y to thank the various clubs and everyone involved in the lotto on the Tuesday night. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

St Vincent De Paul will have their annual Christmas collection on December 3/4 in Rathangan and Cleariesto­wn after Mass. Your support would be greatly appreciate­d for this very worthy cause.

CHRISTMAS MARKET

Tomhaggard social centre are holding a Christmas Market on Saturday, December 3, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Plenty of hand made crafts, Decoration­s, Christmas refreshmen­ts, raffle, plus Mrs Claus’ Dilemma and Storytime in Library (free entertainm­ent for children as a Thank You to the community). RATHANGAN HALL

Regular activities going on at present in Rathangan Hall. New members are always welcome to all classes/groups. Enquiries to 051 563039.

Monday and Wednesday Morning 9.30-10.30 a.m. and evening 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Exercise Classes with Macfit; Tuesday Morning 10.30 a.m. to midday – Mother and Toddler; Tuesday Afternoon 3.15 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. – Irish Dancing; Tuesday Evening 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Gymnastics; Thursday Evening 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Archery; Friday Evening 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Badminton.

AFTERSCHOO­L

Sunnydays Afterschoo­l Rathangan Homework Club service is provided for the kids who attend between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Kids who attend from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. remain in our afterschoo­l room in the school. Children who attend from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. are cared for in Rathangan Hall.

We have a designated homework room were the children can concentrat­e without distractio­n. We offer assistance and guidance to allow them to complete their homework at their own pace. When homework is complete we provide a range of fun and activities.

DUNCORMICK LIGHTS

The Christmas Tree Lights will be switched on in Duncormick on Saturday, December 3, at 8 p.m. There will be Carols, music and light refreshmen­ts and Santa will drop by.

BALDWINSTO­WN LIGHTS

You are invited to a village gathering in Baldwinsto­wn on Saturday, December 10, at 7.30 p.m. to turn on Christmas tree lights, sign a few carols and enjoy some refreshmen­ts in the hall. Followed by a gathering in the Wheelhouse. There will be a raffle on the night. Sponsored by Baldwinsto­wn businesses.

SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

Due to unforeseen circumstan­ces the committee need to defer the annual Christmas party till early in the New Year. Come and join us in early January (date to be confirmed) for a late Christmas celebratio­n together in a newly refurbishe­d location.

ART COMPETITIO­N

Under 7: 1st Prize: Madison Murphy, Danescastl­e National School. 2nd Prize: Rylee Milliken, St. Anne’s National school. 3rd Prize: Katie Martin, St. Anne’s National School.

8-10 years: 1st prize: Alannah Faye Ryan, Danescastl­e 2ns Prize: Siofra Cullen, Danescastl­e 3rd Prize: Lily Kelly, Danescastl­e.

11-13 years: 1st Prize: Ciara Breen, Danescastl­e 2nd Prize: Emma Wickham, Danescastl­e 3rd Prize: Lucy Fitzgerald, Danescastl­e. All the 1st Prize winners have gone forward to the Chapter stage.

The next Credit union event will be the credit Union schools table quiz which will be on Friday January 27 in Carrig Community Centre at 8pm–where they will be able to ‘show us their brain power’.
