TURNING ON THE STYLE
GAINFORT Academy upped the style stakes for a good cause when they hosted Style Sessions 2016 for St Gabriels Children’s Ward.
Linda Bates was awarded a GHD Curve for being named the most stylish lady at the sell-out event. She and the other guests enjoyed prosecco and chocolate before the Style Sessions kicked off on stage.
Hosted by Sharon Clancy, the Style Squad featured Session Stylist and International Educator for Affinage Hair Margo Kilkenny, Make-up Artist Susan Ryan and Fashion Stylist and Ruby Rouge Boutique founder Niamh Byrne.
The night included hair and make-up tutorials, fashion advice, a fashion show and a raffle. A highlight for everyone on the night was the reveal of Gainfort’s total makeover winner, Kathleen Sinnott. She was nominated by her niece and her story touched everyone’s hearts.
The night finished off with an after party in the Crown Bars’ VIP area, where the ladies enjoyed live music and finger food.
Meanwhile, students of beauty therapy and hairdressing gathered at Gainfort Academy celebrated their academic achievements at the annual presentation of certs and diplomas last week.
Family and friends shared in the proud moment as the students were awarded a variety of qualifications. Jennifer Fada Musa received the award for Hairdresser of the Year, while Joanne Dunne was named Beauty Therapist of the Year. Joanna Sutton was awarded the title of Dermalogica Student of the Year.
The students will now take the next steps into their careers in the hair and beauty industry.
