Stage is set for annual Wexford’s Got Talent competition at Whites

-

THE third annual Wexford’s Got Talent gets under way this weekend with a weekend of auditions.

The auditions take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Clayton Whites Hotel under the watchful eye of judges Tony Carty, George Lawlor, Pat Lawlor, Catherine ‘Biddy’ Walsh, Anita Cullen and Yvette Walsh.

Event organiser Chairman Killian Duignan said: ‘ The last two years have seen some incredible performances showcased right from the very beginning, with the first year’s winners the band ‘Fit For Kings’ going on to release hit singles and last year’s winner Tara Doyle-Robinson ranking in the world’s top 20 in acrobatic gymnastics. We know the 2017 competition which is sponsored by the Wexford People is going to be an incredible one.’

Competitors are now invited to pre-book their free audition spot online at www.wexfordhastalent.com. Alternatively anyone wishing to take part can also attend the audition weekend without a pre-booking and take a place in the queue during the audition weekend.

A panel of at least three independent judges will judge the auditions. Qualifiers will be notified of a place at either the first semi final which takes place on January 14 or the second semi final which takes place on January 21. At the semi finals the successful candidates will perform in front of a live audience and a panel of judges. The finalists from each of these events will qualify for the ‘Wexford Has Talent Grand Final’, which takes place on February 11.

The winners of the Wexford Has Talent competition 2017 will walk away with a €2,000 prize fund and, for the first time, two new additional prizes of €500 have been added to the prize pot.

Tickets to the semi finals and final event are now on sale. For further details and Wexford Has Talent news see www.wexfordhastalent.com.
