Quest for a good work-life balance

-

MICK D’ARCY from Corner Boy is hoping to find a good work life balance in 2017.

‘Corner Boy have been lucky enough to experience a lot of travel since we began touring in 2014.

‘We have travelled to the Middle East twice this year, have toured Ireland, UK and Europe and in January 2017 we will be moving to North America to play shows for two months. ‘With all this time on the road it’s easy to lose touch with close friends and family back home in Wexford. My resolution this year is to find more balance between work and personal life.

‘Performing all year round also brings its own demands and there’s a tendency for musicians to be so focused that they almost miss the joy out of performance and playing shows. I hope to be a lot more mindful of this in 2017 and to really enjoy and appreciate each show as much as I can.’

‘I’m also hoping that Wexford will become the Leinster Senior Hurling Champions 2017 with Liam Óg for the All Star. I’d like to see Brian Kavanagh retain ‘Wexford’s Best Barman’ title for 2017 Singing and Swinging pubs.

‘For myself I’m hoping to release new music with Corner Boy and to continue working and creating music with incredible sea of talent County Wexford is producing at the moment.

‘Lastly, I’m hoping to enjoy a few more pints and stories with Lorcie Doyle and Frank Sinnott in Mary’s Bar.’
