GAA CLUB NOTES

Lotto numbers drawn in the Crossabeg-Ballymurn GAA Club draw last week were 1, 4, 6 and 13. There was no jackpot winner and one match-three winner, Joe Murphy, Ballinakea­le. The jackpot this week is worth €5,800. A

dult membership fees are now due, €120 for players, €60 for students and €50 for non-playing members. All fees to be paid by January 31. Hard luck to the minor footballer­s who lost out to the Sarsfields in the Jim Byrne Cup on Sunday last.

DRAMA PRODUCTION

Bridge Drama group return to the Jerome Hynes theatre in the National Opera House, Wexford, on January 26, 27th and 28th with ‘An Inspector Calls’ by JP Priestly. OPERATIONT­RANSFORMAT­ION

Crosssbeg/Ballymurn Ladies’ Football clubs ‘Operation Transforma­tion and ‘Between the Bells’ is progressin­g very well. This is a community fitness activity for all members of the family.

The event takes place every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m in the community field in Crossabeg and will continue till Tuesday, February 28. Further informatio­n can be obtained on the clubs Facebook. You can join in at any stage.

VINTAGE CLUB AGM

The annual general meeting of the Over the Water Vintage club will take place in Ballymurn hall on Wednesday, January 25, at 8 p.m. Members and intending members are invited to attend.

CONDOLENCE­S

We extend our condolence­s to the family of the late Rita O’Connor, Ballyharro­n, Crossabeg, who died on Sunday, January 8, especially to her brother Tom, sister-in-law Eileen, nieces Elizabeth and Geraldine, nephew Michael, extended family relatives and friends. Her remains reposed at Mackens funeral home on Monday with removal that evening to Crossabeg church. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at midday with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

We extend our condolence­s also to Mr Peter Morris and family, Garrywilli­am, Crossabeg, on the death of his sister, Eileen Morris, Ballytramo­nt, Castlebrid­ge, who died on Thursday of last week. She is also survived by her daughter Marie, brothers, grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her remains reposed at Kearneys funeral home with removal to Castlebrid­ge church on Saturday evening last. Burial took place to Castlebrid­ge cemetery after Requiem Mass on Sunday morning.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The Community Games season is about to get under way and the local committee are seeking entries for the following events, draughts, chess, swimming, art and handwritin­g and table quiz. Anyone interested in girls soccer, Badminton, Futsal, basketball, rounders, gymnastics should contact the area secretary Michelle at 086 0605022.

The county swimming finals take in Enniscorth­y pool on Wednesday, February 22, the art and handwritin­g in Castlebrid­ge school on Saturday, March 11, and the table quiz in the Ferrycarri­g hotel on Thursday, March 2. Feel free to contact Michelle, who will be only too happy to answer any of your questions. to hosting lots more community and parish events in the coming months.
