1 SHAKESPEARE’S HAMLET: Students sitting the Leaving Cert this year will have the chance to gain further insight into the Bard’s masterpiece ‘Hamlet’ in the setting of the beautiful Tudor Gothic Wells House from Wednesday, January 25, onwards. Under the direction of Arena Productions, Wells House provides the perfect backdrop for students to gain an insight into the plot and themes of the play. Key scenes will be performed with time to allow for interaction in a thought-provoking and challenging manner. This is a production showcasing human nature, power, kingship, ambition, family, loyalty, treachery and loss. Hamlet is arguably one of Shakespeare’s most debated and demanding pieces. After the key scene performances in the Great House, the group will be invited to join in workshops as the actors discuss the play and it is an opportunity for the students to gain a clear understanding of this classic play. To book a group visit, phone Wells House and Gardens at 053 9186737. Spaces are limited so early booking is recommended.
