LADIES’ ROUND-UP Bunclody through to quarter-finals

Bunclody AFC 2, Courtown Hibs 0: The home side continued their good form this season as they booked a quarter-final meeting with North End United after this 2-0 win over Courtown Hibs.

In a dogged cup match, the home side took the lead just before half-time through Kate Hendrick and, although Hibs worked hard to try to get back on level terms, Bunclody killed off the game when Britney Conroy scored with 20 minutes to go.

Ferns United 5, Adamstown LFC 1: Ferns made it five wins from five and continue to lead the way in the division after this 5-1 win over Adamstown.

Nikki Dunphy scored a free-kick for Adamstown but it was not enough against the sheer firepower of the home side who scored through Mary O’Neill, Leona Breen, Georgina Moore, Hayley Nolan and Lauren Barcoe.

Seaview United 3, Curracloe United 0: Seaview moved second in the division after this 3-0 win over a Curracloe side which put in one of their best performanc­es in recent weeks.

Catherine Doyle scored twice with Sandra Foley also finding the net in a victory where the home side had to work hard to break down a hard-working Curracloe side.

Moyne Rangers 0, Camolin Celtic 2: Camolin kept alive their chances of promotion with this 2-0 win away to Moyne Rangers in a dogged battle played in difficult conditions.

Orla Furlong and Siobhán Finn were both on target for the visitors as they picked up their third win of the season.

Shelburne FC 7, Rosslare Rangers 4: The home side have hit a good run of form since Christmas and have moved clear of the relegation zone after this high-scoring win over Rosslare Rangers.

Kate Devereux and Eimear Murphy scored two goals each for Shelburne, with Shauna Cowman, Ciara Gaffney and Chloe Byrne also getting on the scoresheet.

Peig Busher-O’Sullivan scored two for Rangers, with Amanda Black and Robin Brennan also finding the net.

Tombrack United 1, Bridge Rovers 0: Tombrack have moved to within one point of clinching the league title but were made battle very hard in difficult conditions to eventually secure all three points.

After a scoreless first-half, Breda Cushen broke the deadlock midway through the second-half with a well-struck shot to the bottom corner of the net.

Cushinstow­n AFC 1, St. Cormac’s 1: Cushinstow­n are rounding off their season in fine form as they played out an exciting 1-1 draw at home to promotion challenger­s St. Cormac’s.

Lorraine Fortune was on target for the visitor’s while Cora Cullen scored a second-half equaliser for the home side.

Fastnet Rovers 2, Stoney LFC 0: Stoney’s title ambitions have fallen away badly since Christmas as they fell to their third defeat in a row when losing 2-0 away to Fastnet Rovers.

Eadaoin Miskella and Louise Walsh scored the vital goals that move Fastnet into position as one of the favourites for promotion.
