Butler’s brace helps Crossabeg to victory

Crossabeg dented Shelburne’s Division 2 title ambitions on Sunday as they ran out comprehens­ive 4-1 winners.

Andy Butler netted a double for the hosts, with Jamie Creane and Mark Kavanagh also getting on the scoresheet.

Fastnet Rovers picked up a welcome three points as they saw off Ajax Athletic 3-0 thanks to a double from Jack Murphy and an own goal.

Division2A

Páidí Cullen was the match-winner for Cloughbawn as they extended their advantage at the top of Division 2A.

Cullen netted both goals for his side as they overcame Duncannon 2-0.

Division3

Two of the sides challengin­g for the Division 3 title, Enniscorth­y United and Bunclody, went head to head on Sunday and came away with a share of the spoils.

Bunclody took the lead but a Barry Nolan strike earned the home side the points.

Dylan Murphy was among the scorers for New Ross Celtic as they beat Caim United 4-1.

Division3A

Rosbercon United boosted their promotion hopes with a 3-2 win over second-placed Bridge Rovers on Sunday.

The New Ross side have Jamie St. Ledger to thank for the thrilling victory as he bagged all three goals for his team.

Stephen Fortune and Daniel O’Brien got the goals for Courtown Hibs as they saw off Castledock­rell 2-0.

Division4

Carne FC put themselves in contention to challenge for Division 4 honours by overcoming leaders Crossabeg on Sunday.

Dean Maloney and Fergie Buckley got the goals for the winners.

Dillon Kenny netted a hat-trick for Gorey Celtic as they came out on top 5-3 against Moyne Rangers, with Dillon Connolly and Jakub Konkel adding the other goals for the north county men.

Division4A

Boolavogue United moved closer to a place in the top three thanks to a 4-2 win over Tombrack United on Sunday.

Fionn Doyle (two), Tony Ryan and Higor Garcez hit the back of the net for the winners, while Tombrack got on the scoresheet through Jamie Murphy and an own goal.

Division5

Killenagh dented Castledock­rell’s title ambitions by beating the second-placed side 2-1 on Sunday.

Killian Rowland scored for Castledock­rell but it wasn’t enough as they suffered only their third defeat of the season.
