MUSIC SCHOOL

Shelmalier/Crossabeg Music school every Tuesday from 3.15 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. Places are available in tin whistle, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, bodhran, singing, flute, button accordion for beginners and advanced levels. Weekly winners of the cards in Hotel Curracloe last week were Mary J. Whelan and Murt Hanrahan. Last week’s winners were Mary J. Whelan and Larry O’Shaughness­y. Cards continue on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. till Easter. There is an open draw for Partners 45.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Well done to Shelmalier­s Brian Malone and Eoghan Nolan, who were part of the Senior Wexford football team that accounted for Limerick this week. Brian also captained the Wexford side. There was no winner of the jackpot in the developmen­t lotto with the numbers drawn being 11, 12, 18 and 26. There were two match-three winners, Niall and Maura Hurley and PJ Redmond, who each received €200. The next jackpot is worth €5,800.

‘THE KUBE’

Are you brave enough to enter ‘The Kube’ with the possibilit­y of walking away with €1,000. This event will take place at Hotel Curracloe on Saturday, April 29, with proceeds in aid of Curracloe United’s Astro Pitch developmen­t.

CURRACLOE SCHOOL NEWS

A remind that a Book Fair takes place in the school today, Tuesday, February 7 and tomorrow, Wednesday, February 8, from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. on both days and also from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. today, Tuesday.

The parents’ associatio­n with the help of parents Jessie and Esther O’Connor have organised a Curracloe 5K fun run/walk for Sunday, February 26, starting from the school at midday. Registrati­on at school from 10.30 a.m. with donations accepted on the day. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the school afterwards. All funds go to school.

Recent split-the-pot winner was Rosie Kirwan, who won €202.

BRIDGE DRAMA

Following a very successful first run, Bridge Drama return to the Jerome Hynes theatre at the National Opera House on February 16 and 17 with ‘An Inspector Calls’ by JB Priestly.

PILATES

Pilates classes take place in Screen hall on Tuesday mornings from 10.11 a.m. and in Castlebrid­ge community centre on Sundays from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Newcomers most welcome. Contact 086 8122535 for further details.

5K WALK WITH PRAYER

A 5K walk with prayer for Darren Corrigan will be held on Curracloe beach at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4. Raffle, barbecue and raffle will be held afterwards in Freddie’s of Screen. Sponsorshi­p cards are available from Pat Ennis at Freddie’s bar. Please give your generous support as all funds raised will go to Wexford General hospital.
