MAYOR OF BARNTOWN

It has been over four weeks since the official launch of the Race To Be Mayor of Barntown 2017 and what a month it has been. We have had Election Campaign Trails, Fancy Dress and events of all shapes and sizes.

The Event Update Night on Friday the 27th saw Declan Power announced as the leader of the race at that particular time but with all Candidates and their supporters doing Trojan work on collecting votes, it really could be any one of them who will be announced as leader this coming Friday, February 10, at Election Update in Election Headquarters (Mary Jo’s) starting at 9.30 p.m.

We thank each and every one of you who have supported the campaign so far and hope you continue to vote for your favourite Candidate. Your votes have helped to continue and complete some of the vital projects in the community.

Two benches have been erected in the parish, one at the church and one at Larkin’s Cross. Hedging has been planted in the Cemetery and this is only the start of a bigger plan for this area. All these have been funded by the money raised in the Race To Be Mayor Campaign and work has commenced on erecting floodlighting at the new pitch which is being partially funded by this campaign.

Loads of other projects are currently in the pipeline and we will keep you advised as they commence. So thanks and well done to everybody and we hope to see you all next Friday night as we announce the current leader in the Race To Be Mayor of Barntown 2017.
