A BENCH warrant was issued on Tuesday February 7 at New Ross District Court for Dylan Kelly (20) with addresses at 4, Upper George Street, Wexford, and 57 Sli na Slaine, Enniscorthy.

The warrant was issued when Kelly failed to appear to answer a charge of the unauthorised taking of a vehicle belonging to Brendan Webster at High Street, Wexford on January 11, 2013; with smashing the window of Goodfella’s Barbers, 48 South Main Street, Wexford on January 3, 2014; with the unlawful possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis for sale or supply at Westgate Park on May 22, 2014.

He was further charged with possession of cocaine, methylenedioxymethylamphetamine (ecstasy) and chloropyrrolidinopriopiophenone at Clonard Village for the purpose of sale or supply at Clonard Village on May 8, 2016 and with the unlawful possession of drugs at Tesco car park on September 10, 2013.

He was also charged with driving without insurance and with driving or attempting to drive while under the influence of an intoxicant at Westgate on March 17, 2016 and with driving without insurance, driving licence and NCT, failing to produce these documents and driving without tax at Ross Road, Enniscorthy on Jan 10, 2015.

Acting for Kelly solicitor Tim Cummings said he had previously acted for Kelly but said he hadn’t received any instructions from it.

On hearing this Judge Gerard Haughton issued the bench warrant. A WHITEROCK woman who was clocked speeding was put off the road and fined in absentia at last Tuesday’s sitting of New Ross District Court.

Louise Turner, 51 Lus More, Whiterock Hill, was charged with committing the offence at Castlebridge on July 13, 2016.

Turner was not in court to meet the charge and the court heard she was clocked driving at 66km/h in a 50km/h zone.

Unable to apply the penalty points to her licence because there were no details before the court Judge Gerard Haughton fined her €300, endorsed her licence and put her off the road for one year.
