-

LOCAL builders, plumbers, electricians, tilers and shop fitters pulled out all the stops to give Abrakebabra Wexford its new look and has paid off in a slick, modern and appealing diner.

Ciaran Mooney, from Adamstown, the building owner, was behind the big push to upgrade the restaurant to a contemporary diner that oozes comfort, style and offers scrumptious food and great service.

Ray Walsh is at the helm of the new-look, new kid on the block fast food diner which reopened on January 17.

This is a new challenge for Ray who has 15 years’ management experience in the supermarket retail industry. Ray, who is married to Marie has three young kids, Sean, Anna and Conor, and hails from Sliabh Coilte. He was educated in the CBS New Ross and went on to do retail management.

Ray says he is excited with the new challenge and has a great staff team around him who he looks forward to working with for years to come.

The friendly staff have a long history associated with the building on North Main St. Dreda Turner is the longest serving member of staff with more than 20 years’ experience. She remembers back to the day she worked in 96 North Main Street when it was known as Tbirds diner, before it took on the Abrakebabra franchise.

Dreda’s two decades of experience make her one the best burger chefs in the town and would challenge any master chef to a cook off.

Nicola Bradley has 18 years experience with Abrakebabra and can make a mouth-watering doner kebab like no other.

Gemma Copeland and Lisa Broaders have between them 30 years cheffing experience and will treat you to a tastie meal from a Chicken Shawarma meal, pulled pork or a crunchy Falafel if it’s a vegetarian option you want.

Relatively new, making up the team are Paula O Leary and Daniel Duffin with four years cooking. Paula keep the atmosphere electric in the early hours of the morning, keeping the staff motivated and on their toes.
