Two St Fintan’s men Jim Rossitter and Joey Wadding were to play leading roles in a two point victory and this despite losing the services of James Stafford to a red card just before half time. We congratulate the two St Fintan’s men and we look forward to them leading the club to greater things in 2017. Well done, lads.

ALL BLACKS AFC

The under-10 girls travelled to Ferrycarrig last week to take on the home side Wexford Youths in a league game. Ciara Murphy found the net shortly into the game, and the youths equalised, but Ciara put the Blacks ahead a second time, only for the youths to again equalise. Ciara got her hat trick just on half time to leave the Blacks 3-2 up at the break.

Going into the second half the Blacks took total control of the game with Ciara getting her fourth, Naomi getting one and Jolie finished off the game by hitting the back of the net on two occasions. leaving the final score 7-2 in favour of the Blacks.

A brilliant team performance by all 13 involved, Holly May was great in goal, great tackles and defending from backs Kate, Aveen, Clara and Eva, brilliant running from Ciara, Naomi, Katie, Ava N and Ava W in midfield and great movement and work up front by Jolie, Ava H and Sinéad.

The under-14 schoolgirls game versus Moyne Rangers was called off due to a sudden family bereavement of one of the girls on the Moyne Rangers panel. We express our utmost sympathy to the family, friends and our thoughts and prayers for the deceased.
