ACTIVE RETIRED AGM

The annual general meeting of the Piercestow­n-Murrintown ARA Club will take place on Tuesday, February 21, at 3 p.m. in St Martin’s Centre Piercestow­n. everyone welcome, please come along and have a cuppa after the meeting.

Guest speakers will be Kelly Dundaven Regional Developmen­t Officer, Active Retirement Ireland, Aidan Power of Wexford Local Developent Wexford and Seán Mccormack of Piercestow­n Text Alert Committee.

TABLE QUIZ

A table quiz will take place in Danby Lodge, Killinick this Thursday, February 23, at 8 p.m., Tables of four €20 – in aid of Kilscoran Union of churches. Your support would be very much appreciate­d.

COFFEE MORNING

The monthly coffee morning will take place this Thursday in Our Lady’s Island Community Hall from 10.30 to midday. All welcome to come along for cuppa, and chat – all free.

TACUMSHANE COFFEE

A coffee morning will be held in Tacumshane Old School this Sunday, February 26, after Mass in aid of Church Funds. All welcome – your support is much appreciate­d.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Denise Ambler, Allenstown on winning €180 in last week’s split-the-pot draw. Draw takes place in the Community Hall on Sunday mornings after Mass. Thanks to all involved

COISTE MEMBERSHIP

Thanks to those Coiste Na nÓg members who have paid their membership. Another opportunit­y to pay this coming Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Our Lady’s Island community centre and on Friday from 6.45 to 7.45 p.m. in the clubhouse in Ballymore.

MINOR FOOTBALL

This Sunday sees the start of the club GAA season when our minor footballer­s take on Shelmalier­s at 11 a.m. in Ballymore. Best of luck to all the players and management for the season ahead. Your support on the line is, as always, very welcome.

UNDERAGE GAA COACHING

A foundation level training course has been organised for people within the Our Lady’s Island and St Fintan’s GAA clubs who are currently involved or wish to become involved in coaching our underage players. It will be held over three Tuesday nights, March 14, 21 and 28 in Our Lady’s Island Community Centre.

GAA. LOTTO

With no jackpot winner last week and no match-three winners in the club, the club lotto now stands at €5,100. Worth a punt at only €1.50 a ticket from local outlets and club members. Last week’s numbers were 7, 16, 18 and 26.

SENIOR CITIZENS AGM

The annual general meeting of Our Lady’s Island/Tacumshane senior citizens committee will be held on Tuesday, March 7, in Butler’s, St Iver’s at 7.30 p.m. Anyone, who wishes to join our committee are more than welcome

ICA GUILD

Our ICA held their February meeting on Monday last in the Community Hall. President, Dee Devereux extended get well wishes to Eileen Lavery, Nick Hayes, Susan and Carmel. Sympathy was expressed with the Maloney family on the death of Mary Ward (née Maloney) and the family of the late Joe O’Brien. Ideas for our summer outing were discussed but no decision reached. The Monthly coffee morning takes place this Thursday, 23rd – all are welcome.

Competitio­n was won by Reenie. The raffle was won by Angela, Roisin and Lila. We rounded off the night with cuppa and Francesca’s beautiful cakes. The competitio­n for next month is ‘A poem for Spring’ and Claire Carthy will come along to advise on Foot Care.
