Father Murphy’s hold their annual meeting in Kilburn

Father Murphy’s GAA Club recently held their 59th AGM Meeting in the Done Our Bit Club in Kilburn, London where they hold their monthly meeting. Chairman Jim Howlin extended a warm welcome to everyone in attendance.

Fr Murphy’s Club said they are indebted to all sponsors, supporters, management of the DOB and all who contribute­d in any way in helping to make 2016 such a successful year for the club. A big thanks to all the hurlers and management who remained unbeaten in the Intermedia­te Championsh­ip defeating a strong Brother Pearses team in the final of the Bill Reilly Cup to win the London County Championsh­ip. Fr Murphys then went on to reach the final of the All-Britain meeting Fullen Gales of Manchester who were narrowly defeated by one point. In The McCollough Cup Final Murphys gave a brave performanc­e but were sadly defeated by Thomas McCurtains. Outstandin­g is the 2015 & 2016 League finals yet to be played. Expectatio­ns are high for the coming year as Fr Murphy are playing hurling at Senior level and are now recruiting new players for our warm and friendly social club.
