More lucky readers pick up €20 notes with their Wexford People
FIVE lucky readers of the Wexford People were full of smiles last Tuesday when they were handed €20 each when they picked up their copy of their favourite local paper.
In Dunnes Stores on Redmond Square Michael Kavanagh of Killurin was over the moon when he was approached by our Buy and Win team telling him that he had won €20 for buying the paper.
‘ That’s a great surprise’, said Michael. ‘I can’t believe it. I’m not normally lucky.’
In Mace on North Main Street Nigel Hamilton had popped in to buy a soft drink and his copy of the Wexford People.
He was delighted to be told that he had picked up €20 for his trouble. ‘Getting paid to buy the paper, that’s great news altogether. Holy Moly, I can’t believe it’, he said gleefully.
In the Book Centre Regina Moore of Rathangan was more than a little surprised to be handed €20 after she completed her purchase.
‘ This is a lovely start to my Tuesday’, she said. ‘I never win anything so this is a lovely little treat.’
Nelllie Malone from Ardcavan got the fright of her life when she was approached by the Wexford People’s Buy and Win team in Pettitt’s Supermarket on the quay. ‘You gave me an awful fright’ she laughed. ‘I didn’t know what to expect when you came over to me. Bless you and thank you very much, this is great.’
James Riddett of Cromwellsfort Drive was totally delighted to get handed €20 after he went into Centra on Trinity Street for a roll and his local paper. ‘Wow, this is an unbelievable surprise, although I didn’t expect to be getting my photograph taken when I called in there. But money for nothing is always great to get! Hopefully you’ll be back here next week when I am getting the paper.’
