-

FIFTEEN new start-ups in the South East, five of them in County Wexford, secured investment from Enterprise Ireland in 2016 among them four high potential start-ups companies (HPSUs).

High Potential Start-Ups (HPSUs) are start-up businesses with the potential to create 10 jobs and €1million in sales within three to four years of starting up.

Meanwhile, a further 11 early-stage start-ups from the region each secured €50k seed investment from Enterprise Ireland in the form of Competitive Start Funds in 2016.

These 11 early-stage companies will undertake Enterprise Ireland’s ‘HPSU Start’ accelerator programme to help them develop into full high potential start-up prospects within 18 months.

In total, these 15 start-ups were approved over €1.5m investment from Enterprise Ireland - the state agency responsible for the development and growth of Irish companies in global markets.

The four HPSU companies include one from County Wexford, Wall Steel, New Ross.

Led by Eamonn Wall, Wall Steel Limited design, engineer, manufacture and erect complex steel frame structures for the retail, commercial and residential markets.
