TABLE QUIZ
Katie Lillis is holding a table quiz in Bridgeside Bar and Restaurant (new name for the lodge) on Friday, March 10, starting at 9 p.m. All proceeds will be going towards the FroebelHope (foundation) Partnership which supports newly qualified teachers on their journey to Calcutta where they will spend five weeks teaching this summer. COMMUNITY GAMES SWIMMING SUCCESS
Well done to the 12 swimmers from the local area who won 12 gold, six silver and three bronze medals in the county swimming finals on Wednesday last. All winners will swim in the national finals in Abbottstown in May. Winners were Ruairi Swan (undereight Freestyle), Ava Whelan (under-10 freestyle), Eva Bailey (under-10 backstroke), Darragh Kirwan (under-10 backstroke), Abi Cullen (under-10 freestyle), Claire Whelan (under-12 backstroke), Hannah Fitzpatrick (under-14 freestyle), Holly Furlong (under-14 backstroke) and the under-13 Squad of Abi, Claire, Holly and Hannah. Silver medalists were Sarah O’Leary (under-10 backstroke), Jenna Kirwan (under-12 breaststroke) and under-13 Squad of Ava, Eva, Jenna and Sarah. Bronze medal winners were Darragh Kavanagh, Emily Murphy and Leah Murphy. Well done to all involved and to their mentor Tracy Cullen. Best of luck to the two quiz teams in the county final on Thursday, March 2.

Galbally Community Playschool are now taking enrolments for preschool in September 2017 and cater for children from all areas. Under the ECCE scheme children can be registered for free pre-school when they are aged three, and will be able to remain in free preschool till they make the transition to primary school.

YOUTH CLUB TALENT COMPETITIONS
The county talent competitions ‘Juniors Got Talent’ (for junior club members) and ‘Youth Factor’ (for senior members) will take place on Friday, March 24, in Oylegate Community Centre.
There are seven categories as follows: solo singing; group singing; solo music; group music; solo dance; group dance and performance, which includes drama pieces, storytelling, poetry recital; individual ‘stand up’ comedy; magic act; impersonators; juggling act; ventriloquist etc. The maximum number in performance is 10 people and the minimum is one. Entries must be submitted to FDYS before Monday, March 13. We will be recruiting acts at the Youth Club over the next two weeks and hope that many of those who took part in our Variety show in December will get involved.
BREE YOUTH CLUB’S SPLIT-THE-POT
Bree Youth Club’s split-the-pot fundraiser is now up and running. Envelopes are available in local shops and at Youth Club each Friday night. Draw will take place on the last Friday of each month at Youth Club. Please support this venture as all funds raised will go back into the youth club.

Congratulations to Aoife Cloke Rochford on winning gold in the 60m and 60m hurdles in the Leinster Junior Indoor Championships in Abbottstown on Sunday last. Olivia Howe also reached the final of the 60m. Sophie McCabe won gold in the triple jump.
