LADIES HANDBALL

Well done to TO Emma Sweeneand and Cora Doyle St Joseph’s who brought the Ladies Leinster Minor doubles title back to the parish over the weekend, beating Kilkenny’s Dearbhail O’Keeffe and Sorcha Delaney on a score line of 21-13, 21-18.

They now advance to the all-Ireland semi-final in April where they will take on the Connacht Champions.

MAYOR OF BARNTOWN

Update: We’re on the final countdown and what a race it has been so far, the leader changed on the 04th and final update night, Tom Dempsey has now taken the lead. For those that were there to witness it, the outside broadcast from Bantry was certainly the highlight of the night. Our next event is a car boot sale on Sunday, March 19, after 11 a.m. mass.

The main event of the race is our field day on the Parish Pitch on Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m. The winner will be announced on Sunday Night March 26 in Election Headquarters (Mary Jos) but not before the candidates have one final shot at getting much sought after votes with the race to be mayor of Barntown Auction.

TOM’S CAR BOOT SALE

If anyone is having a clearout and would like to donate items that can be sold to Tom’s Car Boot Stall, please drop them at Tom’s house or contact Sarah at 086 3387868.
