COMMUNITY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €3.000. The winning numbers were 8, 13, 15 and 28. Congratula­tions to the seven match-three winners who each received €43. The matchthree winners were Liz Codd, Maeve Codd Walsh, Adam, Eoin, Bailey and Ruby, Sinéad Burke, Mary Frances Fogarty, Peter Colfer and Liam Carroll. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, March 14, and the jackpot now stands at €3.300.

DRAMA THANKS

Rathangan Variety Group would like to express a massive thanks to everyone who supported their production of Oklahoma over their four night run in Rathangan Hall recently. Thanks also to anyone who helped and in anyway to make it such a success. The cast and crew had a very enjoyable and fun filled week. Until next year.

TRX/PILATES CLASSES

Duncormick Area Action Group and Tidy Towns Committee will hold a table quiz in Sinnott’s Pub on Friday, March 24, at 9 p.m. Tables €20. Refreshmen­ts served. Proceeds in aid of river walk developmen­t.

THE FORGE

The Forge Craft and Design Centre Baldwinsto­wn is back open from our annual closure on Friday, March 17, and each Sat and Sun from 12.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. till Easter. Opening times will be extended for the summer season. Why not pop in to see our new stock and Coffee Dock.

ARCHERY

Éamonn and Deirdre Rogers, formerly from Knocktown, Duncormick, competed in the Irish National Indoor Archery Championsh­ips which took place over the weekend of March 4 and five in the National Sports Arena, Sports Campus Ireland, Blanchards­town, Dublin.

Deirdre competed in the Masters Compound Category, coming first and breaking two Irish Records. She then went on to compete in the senior category seeding sixth, but finishing in ninth position. Next came the Team Event, where, with two other members of the club she came away with the silver medal.

Michael Furlong, formerly of Duncormick, also competed in the Irish Indoor Nationals in the Barebow category. He shot very well in what was his first ever Irish Nationals seeding seventh and finishing in overall seventh postion. Michael has only just returned to target archery after some years absence, and we look forward to seeing him on the shooting line again. festivals are on Monday, March 20, in Tipperary, Tuesday the 21st in Cavan and New Ross on Thursday the 30th.

ENVIRONMEN­T GROUP

The Rosslare Harbour/Kilrane Environmen­t Group would like to thank those who came along to support our recent coffee morning in Hotel Rosslare, the individual­s and businesses that provided the spot prizes and confection­ary. Your support was very much appreciate­d.

The group would also like to thank John Boyce and the Maritime Museum on providing the New Irish Flag for the Memorial Park. As it is the tradition, the new flag with be hoisted for the first time on March 17.

Reminder: A WEEE ( Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) cage only for small Household electrical goods such as toasters, kettles, DVD players, hairdryers, electric drills, etc. and a container for the recycling of fluorescen­t tubes is situated at the back of the Railway Social Club. It is open on Saturday Mornings between 10.00 and 11.30 a.m., weather permitting.

COURSE

Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board are running a new course called ‘Enhancing Our Community Through Education’ in the Rosslare Harbour/Kilrane Area.

This is one course with various modules: Create a Sign for our new local Men’s Shed and gain the QQI Level three Woodcarvin­g Module; Create a Mosaic for the Memorial Garden in conjunctio­n with the Environmen­t Group and gain the QQI Level three Mosaic Module; With Kilrane National School, learn how to grow plants and gain a QQI Level three Horticultu­re Module; Participat­e in Team Activities.

Éamonn competed in the Senior Compound category where, following some extremely tough matches, he was beaten by the eventual winner in the semi-final but went on the win the bronze medal in another nail biting match. Then came the team event, where with two other members of the club, he finished in fourth place.

ST MARY’S GAA

Club lotto – Winning numbers on Tuesday, March 7, were 7, 22, 27 and 28; no jackpot winner. Match-three winners: Flor Hayden, Michael Drea. Next week’s jackpot 6,650.

Congratula­tions to Margaret Doyle, who picked up the club person of the Year award last week. Good to see Margaret being rewarded for all her services given.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The area gymnastics competitio­n will be held on Sunday, March 26, at 9 a.m. in Wexford Gymnastics Club. Age groups are for boys and girls under-9, under-11, under-13, under-15 as of 31/7/2017. Entry fee is €3. You can download the routines on the website communityg­ames.ie. The gymnastics county finals will take place in Gorey on Sunday, April 2.
