Curracloe see off the Taghmon challenge

Curracloe United were too good for bottom side Taghmon United on Sunday, running out 3-0 winners with Tony Smith, Mark O’Connor and Rioghan Crosbie getting on the scoresheet.

Division2

Moyne Rangers moved to within three points of leaders Shelburne with a 3-0 win over Gorey Rangers on Sunday. Joshua O’Byrne netted his 19th goal of the season for the Enniscorth­y side, with Glen Buckley and Brendan Dunne also getting in on the act.

Barry Power, Ian White and John Connors got the goals for Adamstown as they drew 3-3 with Wexford Celtic, while Willie McDonald and Stephen Bennett hit the back of the net for Stoney Rovers in their 2-0 win over Ajax Athletic.

Shamrock Rovers saw off Crossabeg 3-0 thanks to a goal from Martin McKeown and a Seán Casey double.

Division2A

New Ross Town inched another bit closer to leaders Cloughbawn with an emphatic win over Rosslare Strand on Sunday.

Town ran out 8-0 winners with Stephen O’Leary helping himself to a hat-trick, Liam Walsh adding a double, and Gary Sinnott, Craig Wickham and Keith Donnelly contributi­ng a goal apiece.

North End United got back to winning ways with a 2-1 win away to Rathnure with goals from Jason Leniston and Barry Murphy, while Aaron O’Brien, Alex Clarke and Adam Parle (two) scored for Duncannon in their 4-1 win over Rosslare Port, with Jamie McMahon grabbing the Port consolatio­n.

Killenagh Wanderers chalked up a 5-0 win away to Enniscorth­y Town, with Francis Doyle (two), Andrew Keane, Matty Flynn and Cory Sullivan getting the goals.

Division 3 leaders Enniscorth­y United had to be content with a share of the spoils on Sunday as they were held to a scoreless stalemate by Ballymurn.

Bunclody closed the gap on the top two with a 4-1 win over New Ross Celtic, with Jason Somers (two), Gareth Doran and Aaron Collier getting their goals.

Curracloe United chalked up an emphatic win on Sunday, seeing off Camolin 6-0 with a hat-trick from Gary Breslin and goals from Kerril Sutton, John Tyrell and Aidan Clarke.

All Blacks and Rosslare Rangers are deadlocked at the top of the Division 4 table after both chalked up handsome away victories on Sunday.

All Blacks proved much too good for Moyne Rangers, winning 6-0 thanks to doubles from John Codd and Mark Goldsmith and goals from Peter Goldsmith and Shane Sinnott.

Meanwhile, Rosslare Rangers outclassed St. Leonards 5-0, with Gearóid Byrne bagging a hat-trick and Dillon Parle and Fintan Wickham also hitting the back of the net for the seasiders.

Corach Ramblers dented Crossabeg’s title ambitions, winning 2-0 with goals from Joe Sinnott and John Sinnott.

Boolavogue United netted a magnificen­t seven on Sunday as they overwhelme­d Ajax Athletic 7-2 thanks to a Tony Ryan hattrick, a double from Fionn Doyle and goals from Higor Garcez and Jason Quigley.

Brendan McCreary (two) and Gary Doran (penalty) got the goals for St. Joseph’s as they edged out Shamrock Rovers 3-2, with Alan Morrissey and Jim Bob Dunne replying for Rovers.

Eoghan Murphy (two) and Jamie Murphy got the goals for Tombrack in their 3-0 win over Enniscorth­y Town.

Champions Wexford Albion had far too much class for Killenagh and ran out 9-0 winners with hat-tricks from Glen Nolan and Ciarán Byrne, with Richie O’Reilly, Aaron Kinsella and Ben Butler also getting on the scoresheet.

Cushinstow­n also collected three points as they earned a 2-1 win in Ballymurn.
