ICA GUILD

The monthly meeting of Our Lady’s Island ICA will take place on Monday next, April 3, at 7.30 p.m. in the Community Hall.

STORYTELLI­NG

Night Round Fire/Story Night on Friday, April 7, at 8.30 p.m. in the Tacumshane Old School. Come along sit back and enjoy the talent, or take part if you wish. Tea, coffee cakes served at the interval, all welcome, no charge for this community night.

CAKE SALE

Our Lady’s Island GAA. Club Fundraisin­g committee will hold a Cake Sale after Easter Sunday Mass, April 16 in the club. All proceeds towards GAA. Club and pitch developmen­t. Please support. All donations of home-baking welcome.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner last Tuesday night. €3,900 jackpot this week with tickets available locally and through club members. Last week’s numbers were 3, 12, 18 and 24. Well done to Mary Maloney (seller Seán Pettit) on sharing in the match-three winners’ pot.

GAA RESULTS

It was two wins from two games last weekend. First up on Saturday afternoon, a depleted intermedia­te squad travelled to Clongeen for their All County Hurling Div 4B game. With some great hurling and lots of endeavour, the lads came out on top with a 1-11 to 1-15 win. It has since been rumoured that the comeback trail for some of these lads may have come to end, you never know though. Then on Sunday in Carne, our minor footballer­s set out to keep the points at home as Oylegate-Glenbrien visited for this Div 1B clash. After a tough contest these young men held on in the end to win on a score line of 4-08 to 3-09.

Fixture: The only fixture scheduled for the week ahead sees the Minor Hurlers travel away to take on Geraldine O’Hanrahans this Sunday with an 11 a.m. throw inAll-Ireland Final

Our Lady’s Island GAA club would like to wish three of our young members, Cathal Devereux, Quinn Saunders and Cian Meyler, the very best of luck as they travel with St Peter’s College to Croke Park this Saturday to contest the all-Ireland Senior A Football Colleges Final against St Brendan’s of Killarney. Easter Raffle – The club will run their only fundraisin­g event with the Monster Easter Raffle again this year.
