Musicians create CD for charities
THE charity CD launch of the ‘Blind Collaborations’ album music project was launched last week in The Sky & The Ground in aid of raising money for the 33 charities which were chosen by the musicians.
‘At one stage the room was fairly full. We raised €820 on the night but there is still a long way to go as we have 33 different organisations. I would be hoping to get at least €100 for each charity,’ said Brendan Carthy from The Orchard Recording Studio.
The ‘Blind Collaboration’ CD is available from the studio and will soon be released to businesses around Enniscorthy and Wexford.
‘ The album costs €10 and consists of 15 songs by 50 different musicians. It will be available next week to buy online from the likes of iTunes,’ said Brendan.
About 50 people signed up for the music project for charity where names were pulled out of a hat and put into random groups. Each group was given a half a day slot in the recording studio to do their song from scratch.
Every person who participated had the opportunity of nominating their own charity of choice and the proceeds from the album will be split equally between all of the charities.
Musicians who feature on the CD include: Keith Murphy, Jonathan Hayes, Gavin Larkin, Alan Burke, Dewy Daly, Conn Walsh, Stephen Young, Cathal Daly, Sean Kelly, Podge Dwyer, Dean Aiden Murphy, Chrissy Sludds, Olivia Dempsey, John Moulton, Vin Whealen, Aoibhin Redmond, Daryl Quinn, Jack and Mick Egan, Stephen Donegan, Jamie T Murphy, Kerry Morrissey, Aoife Kehoe, Gary Francis Furlong, Rob Kirkpatrick, Dave Duffy, Darren Sinnott, Rory Jackman, Bryan Steacy, Paul Hogan, Colleen Coughlin, Declan Cosgrove, Blayne Hosey, Martin Russell, Carmel Daly, Roger McGuire, Thomas Kenny Murphy, Johnny O’Brien, Richard King, Megan Kate Doolan, Steven Murphy, Michael Way, Imelda Kehoe, Decky Kehoe, Noel Quaid, Declan Turley, Hayley Crosbie, Andrew Berry, Ray Murphy, Rob Brady, Jay O’Sullivan and Brendan Carthy.
