CTECwins€200,000 infundingforfree trainingforwomen
CTEC, the Wexford-based Community Training & Education Centre, has been successful in its bid for funding under the Department of Justice and Equality PEIL programme.
Funding in excess of €200,000 has been granted to provide free training programmes leading to QQI Level 5 & QQI Level 6 Early Childhood Care & Education and QQI Level 5 Health Service Skills to Women who are not on the live register.
QQI Level 5 Early Childhood Care & Education is now a statutory requirement for those wishing to work in a childcare setting while QQI level 6 is a requirement for all room leaders / supervisors or managers in a childcare setting. QQI Level 5 Health Service Skills is the statutory requirement for those wishing to work as a Healthcare Assistance in any public or private nursing home or with the HSE in hospitals or providing care in the community.
These are two areas where there are currently employment opportunities, both part-time and full-time, and this is why these particular sectors were targeted by CTEC in their application.
These programmes are totally free to participants who meet the criteria laid down by the Department and the courses will be delivered on a part time basis at the CTEC Training Centre in St Peter’s Square.
People are encouraged to contact CTEC to register their interest by April 7 and they will then be invited to an information meeting for the free courses. Tel: 053 9121036, Email info@ctecwexford.ie The initiative is part-supported by the government and the European Social Fund.
