SAD PASSING
The parish of Bannow were saddened to hear of the death of one of its oldest parishioners last Monday morning. Peggy Corcoran died in the Community Hospital New Ross in her 98th year and is survived by her sister Josie. Peggys remains reposed at Ryans funeral parlour on Wednesday from 3 p.m. with removal to Carrig church that evening at 7 p.m., funeral Mass was on Thursday at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in Bannow cemetery.

TEA DANCE
Come along and support our Good Friday Dance on Friday, April 14, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. music by the fabulous Checkers. Admission €8 tea and refreshments served. All proceeds going towards Wexford Hospice Homecare. This is a service that is used by a lot of people within our community. A great night of dancing guaranteed.

Crafts and Mushroom making: Some of our volunteers and staff here at Grantstown have been making beautifully painted garden mushroom ornaments, which would look super in your garden for the summer months. We have some for sale here ranging in sizes. You can order them from staff or at reception at 051 561016.
Bowen Treatment: Delbert from Italy will be visiting Grantstown on Saturday, April 1. If you would like to make an appointment to have a treatment by Delbert, please contact Grantstown reception on 051 56 1016.

WALKING CLUB
We are starting our walking club back up every evening at 5 p.m. Meeting at the GAA Park.
GAA CLUB NOTES
Lotto draw this Tuesday night with a jackpot of €8,900. Tickets can be purchased from the Post Office Carrig, Seabreeze Laundrette Carrig, Tír na nÓg, Wellingtonbridge, and from any Club Officer down in the complex. Tickets are only €2 each and a book of six is €10. Thank you for your continued support to our club.
The Junior Hurling team had a one point victory over St Mary’s Rosslare on Saturday week last. While the intermediate football squad lost out to Gusserane recently.
The Junior Football team had a great win over St Joseph’s in their group. Their mentors are David Currid and John O’Sullivan.
The ladies’ football team had a good win over Cushinstown, and the junior camogie will take on St Martin’s during the week to start their league off. Best of luck, lads.
So the deadline for the Membership is well and truly over. All Adult money has gone up by an extra €10. No pay no play.

ST JOSEPH’S NS
Ballymitty parents’ council would like to congratulate all of the participants who joined in the recent ‘ Slim down/Shape’ Up programme. During the eight weeks a total of nine st 1lb was lost. Well done to Pat Doyle, Wellingtonbridge, who was the overall winner. The participants enjoyed a variety of activities including yoga with Tina Ralph, Acupuncture with Jane Carroll, a Cookery Demonstration by Michael O’Connor (The Red Door), Mindfulness with Mark Ralph and Modern Jive with Karen Firman and Martin Wickham.
The programme drew to a conclusion on March 16 with a fashion show in the Oak Tree, Foulksmills, featuring style from Wallace’s, Charles Pierce and Candy. Our thanks to all who contributed in any way to the success of the night, especially our many generous sponsors. €1,700 was raised and will be used to develop the school library.

LONDIS CLIMB FOR JOY
Following the success of last year’s initiative Jump for Joy, staff members from O’Brien’s Londis, Larkin’s Cross, are delighted to be part of the 2017 initiative Climb for Joy, where Londis staff and friends are climbing Corran Tuathail in Co. Kerry and raising funds for our charity partner Pieta House.
A Rock Night will be held in Mary Jo’s Pub, Larkin’s Cross on Saturday, April 15, with music by the fabulous Dynamo. Admission €5 and there will be a raffle and door prizes on the night. Outdoor athletics resumes for the summer season in Ballyhogue GAA Grounds on Mondays and Wednesday at 7 p.m. from this Monday, April 3, All athletes taking part must be registered for 2017. Indoor training has finished till October.
CAMOGIE
Hard luck to club minors Emma Clodagh Roisin Aisling and Holly and the Wexford minor camogie team who were defeated by Clare in the final round of the all-Ireland Championship on Saturday.
Hard luck also to Emma with the county senior camogie team today defeated by Dublin in Wexford Park 1-8 to 0-16 and to Chloe and Aoife with the intermediates defeated by Derry away 3-18 to 3-10.
COISTE NA NÓG
Our under-8s resumed hurling on Saturday morning last.
Our under-11s travelled to Craanford on Sunday where they defeated Liam Mellow’s in the first game but were beaten by Naomh Eanna in the second.
Hard luck to Richie, Dylan, Aaron, Adam, Cormac, Dave and Jack and St Peter’s College Senior Football team who put up a fantastic display in their all-Ireland A final v St Brendan’s Killarney but were unfortunately defeated in the end 0-18 to 0-10.
EASTER CAMP – Glynn-Barntown Easter Camp will take place from the April 18 to April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The camp is open to all primary school children. A limited amount of places are still available. To register information contact Roisin 087 1253637.
SENIOR GAA
Hard luck to John Leacy, James Stafford, Michael O’Regan and the Wexford Senior footballers defeated by Carlow on Sunday.
Another fantastic performance from Mark Fanning and the senior hurling team served to knock out hot favourites Kilkenny in the Allianz League Quarter Final in a superb display of determination and scoring. Mark must be particularly acknowledged for his contribution on a day tinged with great sadness following the passing of his grandfather on Friday.
CONDOLENCES
Glynn-Barntown GAA camogie and Ladies’ Football Clubs extend their deepest condolences to the Fanning family on the sad occasion of the passing of Francis Fanning Colestown, Barntown. Francis is mourned by his loving family many of whom have played various roles in our clubs. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
LADIES’ FOOTBALL
A huge well done to our under-14 lady footballers who won their opening match of the season (Division 1) after a hard fought battle on Thursday evening against the Shelmaliers. Two excellent teams gave us an exciting evening of football with both sides throwing everything into the game right to the end. So proud of every one of our girls. Final score 3-7 to 3-1.
The same girls were fantastic on Sunday morning winning four out of four matches in the Féile first round blitz in Piercestown beating St Martin’s, Ballyhogue, Taghmon and Adamstown. Well done everyone you were all amazing. We will meet Crossabeg-Ballymurn in the Féile semi-final on April 10.
