Theatre arena for JestFest this May
A STREET Theatre Arena and a Vintage Fairground have been announced for the JestFest Comedy Festival which will take place this May Bank Holiday weekend.
The Street Theatre Arena will be located on Wexford Quay and will host Buí Bolg, Tumble Circus and Teeny Tiny Theatre with all of these events being free.
You will also see various Irish and international street jesters, acrobats and contortionists performing as part of the comedy festival.
A vintage funfair will also be on the Quay during the long weekend. The oldest travelling Ferris wheel in Ireland, built in 1922, is one of the most popular rides. Others include a carousel, helter-skelter, classic funfair slide, junior chair-o-planes, and spinning tea cups.
Various venues around the town will host Ireland’s top comedians in the evening including: Eric Lalor on April 27; Alison Spittle with Karl Spain, Lords of Strut, Dublin Comedy Improv, Kevin McGahern and John Colleary, John Colleary and Colum McDonnell with Barry Murphy and Karl Spain on April 28; Stand-Up Comedy for Kids, Wexford Improv Group, Fred Cooke, Niamh Marron and Danny O’Brien, Rory’s Stories and Karl Spain on April 29; Neil Delamere, David McSavage, Foil, Arms and Hog, Al Porter, Fred Cooke and Gearóid Farrelly and Karl Spain on April 30.
