GAA LOTTO

The St Fintan’s GAA lotto now stands at €4,500 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8 p.m. and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match-three prize of €200 up for grabs each week. Many thanks for your continued support.

EASTER HAMPER DRAW

The Ballycogle­y Hall Developmen­t Committee wish to thank all those who supported the Easter Hamper raffle in Foley’s Post Office, Ballycogle­y over the past few weeks. The winner was Ann Newport. Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter.

ALL BLACKS AFC

The All Blacks Div.4 team travelled to Wexford Bohs knowing that a victory was a must to see them join Rosslare Rangers at the top of the league table. Things did not go the way of the ‘Blacks’ with the Bohs taking the spoils on a two nil scoreline. The panel of players and the management are to be compliment­ed on a great season.

CLEAN UP DAY

Two centres in our parish will be the meeting places for the setting up of teams for our cleanup. The action will take place on April 22 with Ballycogle­y hall as the first venue with 10 a.m. as our start time, the team will then move on to Mayglass school for an 11 a.m. start. The purpose of the clean-up is to make our community more appealing and to help the community and school keep green and stay clean.

We appeal to you all to come along and assist with the clean-up and to take along a High-Vis vest where possible. Lets be seen to do something worthwhile for our parish. Children will be allowed to play in the school grounds on the day. Remember’don’t be mean and keep our community green’. Bags and litter pickers will be provided on the day.

ST FINTAN’S GAA

Ballymore was the venue when St Fintan’s took on volunteers in a div.3B all county football league game and after a well contested game took the spoils on a 0-9 to 0-6 scoreline. The St Fintan’s were minus its three county team players Jim Rossitter, Donal Shanley and Joey Wadding all of whom played a part when Wexford took on Westmeath in the Allianz league Div.4 final.

MODEL COUNTY DRAW

Its that time of year again when members of the St Fintan’s GAA Club will be calling to houses in the parish with model county draw tickets.In a year when the club is seeking to carry out developmen­t work at the club grounds in Ballymore these tickets are a fundamenta­l fundraiser and have great potential to generate significan­t funds for the club.

The draw consists of three monthly draws which will be held on the last Wednesday of April, May and June. There are 50 prizes each month with a car as first prize and other prizes include a €2,000 Pettits super value voucher, a Joyces Wexford voucher, Monart Spa voucher, €300 home heating oil voucher, GAA season tickets and many cash prizes.

Tickets costing €50 and may be paid in a single payment or three payments of €20, €20 and €10. We once again ask for your support.

FUN RUN

Mayglass four mile fun run will take place on May 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with St Fintan’s National School the venue. The run is organised by St Fintan’s National School parents’ associatio­n.

DIGITAL SKILLS

Are you interested in doing a five-week course in Tomhaggard social centre starting later in April? It is aimed at people with very little experience accessing/ using computers and online services.

Now that WiFi has been installed in the Social Centre we are in a position to offer this course in conjunctio­n with CTEC Wexford. You can bring your own laptop or a limited number can be provided. Content includes Introducti­on to internet, it’s Safety and Security, email, Social Media, Online Banking incl security, Government Services (pay Car Tax etc), Online Shopping etc. For more details contact Mary at 085 7768638.

Tomhaggard Social Centre Activities: Monday – Women’s Shed 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Yoga. Tuesday – Art 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday – 7-8.30 and Saturday 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Scouts. Reading Room open to public when centre in use. Walking group in Johnstown castle Sundays 10 a.m.

3K/5K FUN RUN

This coming Sunday, April 23, come along and join us for our second fun 3K/5K fun run/walk. 10.45 a.m. from the clubground­s in Ballymore. €5 adults, children free. Enjoy the catch up with family and friends while out getting some great exercise.

POINT TO POINT

Following on his tremendous second place finish in the Aintree grand national on Cause of Causes Jamie Codd renewed rivalry with Derek O’Connor and Barry O’Neill on the point to point circuit in his quest to hold on to his title. Things were not to change with all three riding two winners each leaving Jamie four winners behind Barry O’Neill.
