MEN’S SHED

There will be a meeting of the Men’s Shed this Tuesday, April 25, in Bree Hall at 11 a.m. New members would be very welcome to come along and find out more about the group and what they do.

Congratula­tions to the Bree United Men’s team which clinched the Division 3 Title by beating Bunclody 2-0 last Sunday week.

CLOTHING COLLECTION

Bri Beag is hosting a clothing, household textiles and mobile phone recycling collection with drop off at Bree Community Centre this Thursday, April 27, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and on Friday morning, April 28, from 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. or drop bags into Bri Beag. Items accepted are clean, dry clothing, soft toys, shoes, handbags, belts, laptops, mobile phones, curtains, towels etc.

LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Under-10 training for Girls Football takes place at Bree pitch on Sunday evenings from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Contact Sharon at 086 3059296 for further informatio­n.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The Community Games County Talent Competitio­n for under-12s and under-16s takes place in Bree Hall on Saturday, May 13, Competitor­s from Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn parishes are invited to take part. Events are solo and group dancing, singing, music and drama. Entries must be with the area Sec by this Friday, April 28. Please check with the area sec (Clare at 087 4151350) or the Community Games website under Resources/ Rule Book for each event rules. An area final may be held on May 4.

The local Athletic Finals will take place on Thursday, May 11. More details later.

Best wishes to the under-10 Indoor Soccer team in the county final against Glynn-Barntown on Tuesday, May 2, in Enniscorth­y at 6 p.m.

GALBALLY TRACTOR RUN

The annual Galbally Tractor Run in aid of Galbally Parish Funds will take place on Sunday, May 28.

BREE AC NEWS

Outdoor athletics takes place for the summer season in Ballyhogue GAA Grounds on Mondays and Wednesday at 7 p.m. The next club outing will be St Abban’s Open Sports on May 1.

The County Championsh­ips take place on Sunday, May 7, and Sunday the 14th in the Hub. All athletes taking part must be registered members of Bree AC for 2017 to take part.
