SCOUT GROUP NEWS

A special Emergency meeting has been called for all parents and other interested adults to discuss recruiting leaders in all sections in the Scout Group. due to many circumstan­ces the current leaders may not be able to attend every week or all activities in the coming Scout Year (Sept 2017 to July 2018) which means all three sections will not have sufficient adults to run the sections according to Child Protection laws in ireland.

We need more adults or some of the sections may not re-open in September 2017. Your help is needed and we invite you to come along to this special meeting at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23 (approx 45 mins) to meet with the Group Council members who will give you details of training required and other details such as Garda Vetting etc.

Please do come along, or if in meantime, you wish to speak to our Group Leader, Jane Power any Tuesday night in the hall, if you are interested in coming along and joining our group to help save closing some of the Sections of beavers, cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. thank you for your co-operation.

PARISH CLEAN UP

In conjunctio­n with Wexford County Council and National Clean up Day Piercestow­n Scout Group are arranging a clean-up of the village and the three roads leading off from the church Crossroads on Saturday, May 6 – start time to be advised. The group would like to invite all parents and other organisati­ons to come along and help them collect the large amount of rubbish which is being dumped around the village and surroundin­g areas every day.

Hi-viz vests, rubbish bags, gloves and pickers will be provided. Start time 11 a.m. Please come along and help, we are appealing to everyone who has a couple of hours to spare to come along, especially the parents but all parish people.

ARA CLUB NEWS
