The Bree-Davidstown local Athletic Finals takes place on Thursday, May 11, in Bree Field at 6.30 p.m. Registrati­on is from 5.30 p.m. All children aged from six to 16 from the parishes of Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn can take part.

Outdoor athletics takes place for the summer season in Ballyhogue GAA Grounds on Mondays and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The next club outings will be the Mr Oil Co Championsh­ips on Sundays, May 7 and 14in the Hub, Enniscorth­y. All athletes taking part must be registered members of Bree AC for 2017. Best wishes to all taking part.

IRISH MUSIC CLASSES

Scoil Ceoil Mac Shiurtain are now accepting new enrolments for Irish Music classes in Galbally Community Centre on Monday evenings at 5.30 p.m.

Beginners and advanced are welcome to learn tin whistle, flute, button and piano accordian, keyboard, fiddle, mandolin and banjo. SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

This year’s fundraisin­g event for Holy Family school Glenbrien is ‘A Night at the Dogs’ in Enniscorth­y Greyhound Track, on Thursday, June 1. The first race will be at 8 p.m. There will be a gate prize on the night as well as a raffle. There will also be compliment­ary face painting and goodies for the children.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD

The Ministers of the Word on the weekend of May 7 are Eileen McGrath and Angela Lawless while Maeve Whelan and Noel Doyle will be on reading duty on the following weekend, May 14. Kathryn O’Dowd and Pauline Rice are scheduled to read on the weekend May 21.

FIRST COMMUNION

Best wishes are sent to the girls and boys from second class, Oulart National School, who are making their First Holy Communion on May 6. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Ms. Hanrahan, Ms. Waters and Claire are appreciate­d for their work in preparing the class while Ms. Lenihan and Mr Stuart are helping with the music.

Home-baking for the ‘After First Communion cup of tea’ would be appreciate­d and may be left into the Community Centre from 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

ACTIVE RETIRERMEN­T

Members and intending members are reminded that membership fees are now due and can be paid any Tuesday, between 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. in Oulart Community Centre. A cup of tea and a chat are available every Tuesday at 4 p.m. and members are encouraged to attend. Coffee morning.

A coffee morning in aid of the Cardiac Unit in Crumlin Hospital will be held in the Crosses, Kilmuckrid­ge, on Friday, May 5, from 10 a.m. till midday. Admission is only three euro and there will be Door/Raffle Prizes.

VARIETY CONCERT DVD

The DVD from the recent Oulart-The Ballagh GAA Variety Concert is now available from the club shop, priced at only €10. Contact Club treasurer, Pauline Davitt (087 6864594), to order a copy.

UNDERAGE GAA

On Thursday, April 27, our under-14 team were away to Craanford, in the first round of the championsh­ip and came away with a victory on a score – line of four goals eight points to four goals two points.

CAMOGIE ROUND UP

Senior Team Congratula­tions to the senior team on winning the County League title last Saturday evening, April 22. The girls defeated St Martin’s by 2-13 to 1-10.

Well done to the under-14 girls on winning their second round match against St Martin’s last Friday evening, April 21. The girls won by 2-05 to 1-05. Best of luck in the next round game against Cloughbawn. Keep up the good work.

Well done to the under-12s on competing in their first Cluster Blitz of the season held in Buffers Alley last Saturday, April 22. The girls won two of their four games. An enjoyable day was had by all.

FOOTGOLF FUNDRAISER

Tee times are filling up fast for our Footgolf Fundraiser on Saturday, May 20, in Blackwater Golf Course. The cost of entering a team is €40 (4 people on a team) and it is suitable for age seven upwards. Lots of prizes to be won. A coffee morning in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare will take place in Oylegate Community Centre on Saturday, May 13, from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

PLAYSCHOOL

Smart Kidz playschool is opening in September 2017. It is located two miles from Oylegate and Glenbrien just off the main N11 road. In a country location where the children will get to meet a variety of farm animals. ECCE Scheme places will be available for children from three to five years Monday to Friday from 9.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. Children from aged two 1/2 can also attend for a fee of €5 per hour. The PA of Oylegate N.S. are holding a coffee morning on Thursday, May 11, in Mernagh’s – the funds raised will be used to bring science workshops to the school.

FAMILY CHALLENGE

The GAA Club will host Oylegate-Glenbrien GAA Family Challenge on June 3 and 4 in the GAA grounds. Over the next few weeks we will be busy recruiting teams to participat­e in the challenge. The challenge will involve family teams completing a fun filled obstacle course that requires team work and skill to enable one of our families to be crowned the ‘Oylegate-Glenbrien GAA Family Challenge Champions’.

KETTLEBELL CLASSES
