Three Wexford companies shortlisted for startup awards
THREE Wexford companies have been shortlisted for the Bank of Ireland Startup awards out of 96 nominated for awards nationally. The competition, now in its sixth year, recognises and rewards Irish startups for their success in business across 13 categories including digital, health and healthcare, food and drink, retail, fintech and technology with the awards taking place in the Mansion House in Dublin on Thursday, May 18. Wexford business The Red Door Coffee Shop & Deli has been shortlisted in two categories; ‘Creative Retail Startup’ and ‘Service Startup’ while digital service agency BoomMedia Limited has been nominated in the ‘Digital/Online Startup’ and ‘Service Startup’ categories. Wexford town-based company YellowBelly Beer has also been shortlisted in the ‘Product and Manufacturing Startup’ category. 2016 winners include Waterford-based manufacturer Pip & Pear Babyfood in the as ‘Food & Drink Entrepreneurial Startup’ whose products are now sold in multiples throughout the county, and Cyc-Lok who were the winners of the ‘Sustainable Startup’ category and went on to secure a contract with Dublin City Council after their win. Category winners of the Bank of Ireland Startup Awards will go on to represent Ireland in the prestigious European Startup Awards which will take place later this year.
