THE importance of creativity as we age is celebrated during the Bealtaine Festival which is taking place during the month of May on the theme of All Together Now.

A range of artistic and cultural events will be held in libraries, arts centres, care settings, galleries, active retirement and community groups around the county.

On Thursday, May 18, artist Michael Fortune will give a presentati­on on his Wexford Dresser Project in Wexford Library from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

This is an ongoing body of work in which Michael has been documentin­g kitchen dressers in counties around Ireland through a combinatio­n of photograph­y, film and story.

An exhibition of work on the project is on display in Wexford Library during the month of May.

On Friday, May 19, Wexford Arts Centre will host a public event from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in which the artists Vivienne Dick, Kevin Gaffney and Kathy Prendergas­t who took part in a residency at Cowhouse Studios will discuss their practices and the time they spent working in Wexford.

They will be joined by a local historian. One-on-one mentoring sessions will be available for profession­al artists. Admission is free.

Gorey Town and District Parks public art programme is inviting all-comers to a series of interactio­ns, installati­ons and chance encounters on the Main Street of Gorey and in the Gorey Town and District Court from Monday, May 15 to May 28.
