HOOK HIGHLIGHTS BUS TOUR LAUNCHED

THE Hook Highlights Bus Tour was launched last week by Heritage Tours Wexford, offering customers the chance to experience some of the best tourist attraction­s south Wexford has to offer.

The thrice-weekly tour is now up and running, leaving from the Wexford Tourist Office on Crescent Quay every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 9 a.m. returning at 5 p.m.

The tour will take you to the Quayside of New Ross for a guided tour of the Dunbrody Famine Ship where the harshness of conditions and life of the voyage will be explained.

For the months of May, June, September and October tourists be brought to Tintern Abbey. Founded in 1200 it is an evocative piece of Irish monastic history, where you will get a 45-minute guided tour of why it is referred to as Tintern of the Vow.

For July and August only Hook Highlights Tour will bring you to Ireland’s most haunted house of Loftus Hall. The tour guide will take you through the ground floor on an interactiv­e tour of the abandoned house.

The final stop of the bus tour will be Hook Lighthouse where you can climb to the balcony of the worlds oldest working lighthouse.
