IDA appoints new regional manager

IDA Ireland has appointed Brendan McDonald as Regional Manager, South East Region.

Brendan is taking up the position previously occupied by Anne-Marie Tierney Le Roux, following her recent appointmen­t as Head of Regional Developmen­t for IDA Ireland.

A native of Killeen, Co Laois, Brendan will be responsibl­e for driving new foreign direct investment to the South East Region ( Wexford, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, and Tipperary) under IDA Ireland’s Strategy Winning 2015-2019, working with existing clients with operations in the Region as well as engaging with key stakeholde­rs across the enterprise ecosystem in the Region.

Martin Shanahan CEO IDA Ireland said the associated remains committed to winning investment into the South East.

Brendan qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and practiced extensivel­y in a private law firm in the areas of Commercial Property, Litigation, Employment Law and Court Prosecutio­n and Defence.

He subsequent­ly joined IDA Ireland in 2012 as a Commercial Property Solicitor and worked in the Commercial Property Division of IDA Ireland. Immediatel­y prior to being appointed South East Regional Manager, Brendan worked as the IDA West Regional Executive from 2015 promoting foreign direct investment and IDA’s regional developmen­t agenda in the West Region which consists of counties Galway, Roscommon and Mayo.
