CAMOGIE
Well done to our two under-10 camogie teams who hosted Blackwater, St Ibar’s-Shelmaliers, Oylegate and Clonard in a blitz in Killurin last Saturday morning where all clubs put on exciting displays for the spectators. Our fantastic under-10 girls also played in a camogie blitz in Oylegate this Sunday winning two games, drawing one and losing one by just a point. What a great bunch of girls. Our under-12 camogie team had a blitz in Hollymount hosted by St Ibar’s-Shelmaliers on Wednesday where five matches were played in all. Heading into the fifth match, our girls had a clash of the titans scenario as both the blue and green team had won four games each and were now pitted against each other. It was a gallant battle to the very end with both teams emerging winners in the trainers’ eyes. Thanks to St Ibar’s-Shelmaliers for hosting the blitz, Blackwater and Marshalstown the referees, trainers and supporters.
Our Féile camogie team took part in the Slaney camogie festival on Sunday morning last. The girls lost out in their three games but this very united bunch are working hard and despite a championship defeat later in the week by Kilrush we feel the best is yet to come from these great girls.
Well done to Ciara Butler, who represented Glynn-Barntown in the County Féile camogie skills competition in Farmleigh on Monday and came in at second place.
Our Senior camogie team defeated Buffers Alley on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon to win a league final spot against Gorey the following Sunday morning when they captured the league title in Monageer against Naomh Éanna, Gorey, on a 1-10 to 1-5 scoreline. At half time we were a point behind 0-5 to 1-3 and after the interval the game lay in the balance for the first 15 minutes of the second half. However, our
girls upped their game and put a few nice passages of linkedup play together to place some breathing space between the teams. The game was sealed by a handpassed goal from Jessie Morrissey.
Scorers – Jessie Morrissey 1-1, Aoife Sheil 0-2, Laura 0-2, Emma Walsh 0-1, Annette Moroney 0-1, Róisín Doyle 0-1, Chloe Cashe 0-2 (frees).
Our under-16 camogie team played their second championship game on Wednesday against Rathnure in Killurin. In a gritty performance showing great composure and determination the girls carved out a well deserved five point victory 5-7 to 4-5. Scores came from Emma Dempsey 3-6, Ciara Butler 1-1 and Clodagh White 1-0.
Well done to club camogie player Ciara Walsh, senior camogie trainer Adrian Sheil, Eleanor Neville and the Wexford ladies’ intermediate football team who forced a draw against a much fancied Tipperary team in the league final last week. Both Ms Walsh and Ms Neville are teachers in Glynn NS where they regularly give their time to the development of Gaelic games in the school.
Congratulations to our own Emma Dempsey and Clodagh White and the Wexford under-16 camogie team who are Leinster ‘B’ Shield winners, having defeated Kildare 4-12 to 1-3 on Saturday.
Congratulations to club girls Eva Crean, Cora Doyle and Jodie Keeling members of the Leinster handball team who won the provincial title on Saturday. Hard luck to Emma Walsh and the Senior Wexford camogie team and Aoife Sheil and Chloe Cashe and the Intermediate Wexford camogie team defeated over the weekend.

COISTE NA NÓG
Well done to the under-seven boys who took part in a great blitz hosted by RathgarogueCushinstown on Sunday morning. Our under-12 hurlers had two good wins over Faythe Harriers on Sunday morning. That same evening they travelled up to Craanford, where they were runners-up in the final of their indoor hurling tournament following weeks of competitive hurling along with 30 other teams. On Sunday last they were defeated by Ballinastragh Gaels in Killurin.
Hard luck to our under-14 hurlers who were defeated by Buffers Alley in Monamolin last week. It was level pegging at half time but the Alley pulled away in the second half to take the victory. However, the boys rallied on Thursday to beat Naomh Éanna Gorey 3-3 to 0-8 in championship. Well done to our under-16 hurlers who defeated Our Lady’s Island St Fintan’s 5-10 3-14 on Bank Holiday Monday.
Well done to Ger Dempsey and Jack Brazzill and the Wexford Minor hurlers who defeated Offaly in championship on Saturday last. Well done also to Cormac Rowe, Dylan Lyne, Dave Roche, Aaron Breen, Matthew Banville and the Wexford Minor footballers who defeated Wicklow on Saturday.

SENIOR GAA
Our senior footballers were defeated last Friday evening by Starlights by three points in Round two of the championship. Final score 4-5 to 2-14 with our scores coming from Mark Fanning 2-2 (2-0 penalties) Michael O’Regan 1-0, Robbie Dempsey 1-1, Nigel Usher 0-1, Barry Doyle 0-1. Well done to our junior footballers who began their championship with a win over Monageer-Boolavogue 3-9 to 1-11. Seán Carmody slotted home two penalties in the second half and Dylan Lyne scored the third goal. Seán Carmody also scored 0-3, Aaron Kehoe 0-2 from frees, Daire Barron 0-2, Jack Brazzill 0-1 and Matthew Joyce 0-1.
Our Senior hurlers lost out to Buffers Alley in the first round of the championship on Saturday on a scoreline of 1-18 to 3-17. Only two points separated the sides at the interval 0-10 to 0-12 but three Alley goals in the second half put the distance between us in the end.
Scorers: Gary Moore 0-9 (0-7 frees 0-1 lineball), Michael Doyle 1-3, Brendan Doyle 0-1, Matthew Joyce 0-1, John Leacy 0-2 (01free), Mark Fanning 0-1 (free), Alan Cowman 0-1
