Gala evening will celebrate the best of Wexford business

-

THE shortlist for the 2017 Wexford Business Awards, sponsored by Wexford County Council and the EPA, has been announced, with almost 120 companies in contention. Now in their 9th year, the Business Awards work hard to find and showcase the best of what County Wexford has to offer.

This year saw a 21 per cent increase in the number of entries and the shortlist was drawn from 175 submissions across the South East, with many organisations entering for the first time.

The 2017 shortlist includes some names that have featured in the Business Awards before and, in fact, some past winners. All categories have attracted the highest calibre of applications which ensures the highest standard of competition.

In all, just over 100 entries went forward to the final interview stage which took place in Clayton Whites Hotel last month.

Judges, sponsored by Morgan McKinley, will score each application on multiple criteria and runners-up and winners will be selected across all categories. The Overall Business of the Year will also be selected.

Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner which will take place in Clayton Whites on Friday, May 26. Hosted by Hector Ó hEochagáin, with music by local band Corner Boy, tickets for the event are already selling quickly. Madeleine Quirke, CEO Wexford Chamber, said the body was delighted with the increase in submissions for the awards this year.

‘We were delighted with the increase in submissions for the awards this year. The support we have from businesses across the county both in terms of applications and in terms of sponsorship has been phenomenal. Good luck to everybody, you are all winners insofar as Wexford Chamber is concerned.’
