GALBALLY TRACTOR RUN

The annual Galbally Tractor Run in aid of Galbally Parish Funds will take place on this Sunday, May 28, Bree Macra News.

The next outing for the club is the county dinner dance taking place on this Friday, May 27, in the Horse and Hound. Tickets are priced at €30 and there is limited availabili­ty remaining. GALBALLY DEFIBRILLA­TOR

Fundraisin­g is ongoing and at present we are just over the halfway mark of our target of €2,000, collection points are in the church, school and Ryan’s bar, Thank you for your support.

SPORTS AND LEISURE CLUB

Galbally Sports and Leisure Club have music lessons on Mondays and volleyball on Wednesdays. Please see our Facebook page Galbally sports and leisure club for booking details.

BREE YOUTH CLUB

The AGM of Bree Youth Club will take place on Tuesday, May 30, at 7.30 p.m. in Bree Community Centre. Parents of all club members are asked to attend.

Juniors will travel to Lough Key Forest Park in Roscommon on Saturday, May 27, for a day of adventure and activities. Seniors will spend the weekend of July 14 to July 17 in Wales.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Hard luck to the boys under-12 soccer team, who came up against a very good Castlebrid­ge team in their county semifinal recently. Team members were Ben Asple, Lee Broaders, Dylan Carr, Mark Dawson, Tadhg Doyle, Harry Helps, Odhran Kehoe, Darragh Kirwan, Zak Levingston­e, Travis McCauley, Harvey Montague, Cillian Murphy, Oscar Redmond, Conor Rochford, Sam Twomey and Tiernan Walsh. Mentors were Jason Broaders and James Murphy.

Well done to the Galbally NS sketch of Tadhg Doyle, Hazel Murphy, Casey Cullen, Seán Vaughan and Garry Laffan which won the Co under-12 Final. Niamh Fenlon was third in the under-12 Solo Music and Michael Roche was third in the under-16 Solo Music. Also taking part in Solo Singing under-12 were Orla Cunnea and Abigail Buckley.

Well done to the boys under-10 Football team who put up a great performanc­e against Cushinstow­n Community Games on Sunday last to win county silver medals. The team was Bill Blyth, James Breen, Laurance Cloke, Nathan Doyle, Tom Dunne, Ben Kavanagh, Charlie Kehoe, James Killeen, Darragh Kirwan, Cillian Murphy, Eoin O’Farrell, Darragh O’Regan, Conor Rochford, Ollie Treacy, Seán Vaughan and Tiernan Walsh. Mentors were Séamus Killeen and James Breen.

Well done also to all who took part in the local Community Games athletics finals recently. The County Final takes place on June 25 in the Hub, Enniscorth­y.

BREE AC NEWS

Four teams represente­d Bree AC in the Leinster Relays Championsh­ips last weekend and all four returned with medals. It was gold for the girls under-10, under-12, boys under-13 and bronze for the girls under-11.

Teams were: under-10 – Keira Wilson, Chloe Casey, Maura Doyle, Ciara Laffan, Lea Bolger; under-11 Joanne Chapman, Katie Doyle, Keira Wilson, Chloe Casey, Maura Doyle, Ciara Laffan; under-12 – Abbie Doyle, Gracie Kehoe, Amelia Furlong, Joanne Chapman, Katie Doyle; under-13 – Robbie Chapman, Shane Doran, Seán Rowley, Oisin Rochford, Ryan Whelan. Well done to all involved.

COLLEEN’S ALBUM LAUNCH

Local girl Colleen Coughlan launched her first album entitled ‘I Surrender’ on last Saturday night, May 20, in Fusion Cafe and Restaurant, Wexford. She performed songs from her Album, Originals and Covers. Colleen is wished every success with her Album launch and for her future career.

RECYCLE UNITS

If the recycle units at the front of the Community Centre are full please do not leave bags, boxes of bottles on the ground in front of the units as they end up becoming a litter problem and also a hazard with broken glass. Please do not bring household refuse or any other type of rubbish up to the units as it will not be taken away. The recycling units are a great benefit for the whole community.
