Last weekend the County Throws Championsh­ips wastaking place at DMP track in Drinagh. The poor weather conditions didn’t put our athletes off as Emma Owens was 1st in the Senior Hammer and 2nd in the Senior Discus. Gergley Pap and Milan Kovacs competed in the U16 Discus with Gergley taking Gold and Milan Silver.

Sunday of that weekend was another great day at Day 2 of County Track and Field Championsh­ips in Enniscorth­y where 23 of our young athletes competed and they bagged 17 medals between them. Although the weather was a little showery for the first half of the day it didn’t hamper our athletes with all of them making it through their heats in the sprints and many of them making the Finals.

Athletes on the day were: U9 Artem Kelly, Elijah Paige Redmond, Addison Tormey U10 Ellen Goggin, Aoibheann Quirke, Lucia Donohue, Sophie Whitehead, Hannah Kelly U11 Lucas Paige Redmond, Evan Englebrech­t & Jacob Sumec U12 Rob Stirling & Padraic Moran U13 Abby Lambert, Bonnie Murphy & Zara Newport U14 Ciara Martin & Oscar Barros U15 Emma Carr U16 Maeve Hayes, Gergley Pap & Milan Kovacs U18 Boys Sammy Delaney Our medal winners were: U9 Elijah 2nd in the 60m sprint & 300m U10 Aoibheann 3rd 60m sprint U12 Rob 3rd Long Jump U13 Bonnie 2nd 60m Hurdles & 3rd 80m Sprint U14 Ciara 2nd 800m U16 Maeve 1st 80m Hurdles, 1st High Jump & 2nd Shot U16 Gergley 1st Shot & Milan 3rd Shot U18 Sammy 1st Long Jump & 3rd 800m & 3rd 200m We also had two relay teams that ran extremely well both finishing in 3rd place - U10 girls comprised of Hannah Kelly, Lucia Donohoe, Aiobheann Quirke and Addison Tormey and U12 boys were Rob Stirling, Evan Englebrech­t, Lucas Paige Redmond & Padraic Moran.

Thursday was Day 1 of the Leinster Schools Track & Field Championsh­ips held at Mortom Stadium, Santry. St Pauls had two atheltes competing, Gergley Pap representi­ng CBS and Emma Carr representi­ng Loreto Wexford. Gergley was first in the Junior Shot and secnd in the Hammer. Emma competed in the Minor Long Jump. Congratula­tions to both.

Lotto numbers were 4, 21, 25 and 29. There were two matchthree winners Fred Rossiter, Diarmuid Heuston. Jackpot next week is €8,150.
