Sponsor seeks his own prize!

THE SEMI-FINALS of the George Hair Fashions unraced semi-finals were the feature races last week at Enniscorthy Dog Track.

The sponsor, George Roche from Barntown, has a big chance of lifting the prize as his Ballinaboola Net came good in his semi to hold the challenge of Hot Diggity Dog comfortably by three and a half lengths in a good 28.92.

The second semi saw ‘Shanks’ Whelan’s new purchase, Forest Karen, get the better of longtime leader Cow Lane Lad by three-quarters, with Mairéads Sky a neck away after missing his break.

The draw is always important in a final and, as most of the runners got their trap, a good final is in prospect for the very nice €2,500 first prize.

This Thursday night the County Wexford Show committee fundraising night will be a very good one to go greyhound racing, and a big crowd is expected for a great night of action featuring the final of the A1/2 dual distance stake over 600 yards.

Again, this should be a very good race.
