RACKARD LEAGUE

A massive well done to Barntown NS who created a little bit of history last Thursday evening by winning the Rackard League A hurling final to complete the double, having won the A Football earlier in the school year.

The boys were outstanding on the field and dominated the game going in to the interval 3-6 to 0-1 up against Piercestown-Murrintown NS. The opposition battled back in the second half but the Barntown boys rallied to keep the distance between the teams. The final score was 3-9 to 1-4.

Our scorers: Daragh Murphy 1-7 (0-6 frees), Ferdia Reynolds 1-1, Seán Cooney 1-0 and Daniel Brazzill 0-1. Well done to all.

BREE MACRA RELAUNCH

Bree Macra is relaunching the club just in time for the new Macra year. With lots of upcoming events and nights planned the club is kicking off in style with a Relaunch Night in Byrnes of Bree on June 9 from 9 p.m.

It’s an ideal opportunity for anyone aged 17-35 in Bree, Cloughbawn, Davidstown, Glynn and surrounding parishes to come along and check us out. Whether it’s nights out, sports, debating, performing, community involvement, travel, agri events you’re interested in, or just general craic, Bree Macra is here so come along and meet the present and past members.

FERRYCARRIG ROWING CLUB

Training continues for the Ferrycarrig Rowing Club. Come along and give it a try. We will be on-shore beside the ‘Giraffe’ every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening from 7 p.m. Wear trainers and bring a bottle of water. Look forward to seeing you there.
