BREE AC NEWS

Congratulations to Aoife Cloke Rochford, who won a gold and a silver medal in the CSIT World Games in Latvia last week. Aoife’s gold medal win was in the 100m and her silver medal win was in the 200m. A team of 12 athletes from Leinster represented Ireland at the event and Aoife was the only Co Wexford athlete taking part. Well done to her and to all involved.

Days 2 and 3 of the Leinster Championships took place last weekend in Tullamore for the under-12 to under-19 age groups. Bree AC had a small number of athletes taking part due to a number of reasons. Gracie Kehoe won silver in the 60m Hurdles and Sophie Codd won silver in the 80m hurdles. In the under-14 800M, Conor Doyle won his first Leinster Track and Field medal when he finished in second place. Olivia Howe had a super run in the under-18 200m winning a bronze medal. Other National qualifiers were Sophie Codd in the 250mHurdles and Grace Donohoe in the under-12 Turbo Javelin.

Best wishes this weekend to the under-nine-11 athletes in the national finals on Saturday and to other younger athletes competing in the Co ‘B’ Championships on this Friday evening in the Hub.
