BIG WINS FOR BREE YOUTH CLUB
Members of Bree Youth Club showed themselves to be top quizzers as they took home two National Titles from the National Youth Games in the university of Limerick on Sunday, July 2, The team of Mary Byrne, Emily Jordan, Gilly Phelan and Jack Cahill won the under-15 competition. Their fellow members, Owen Sherlock, Shane Roche, Lorraine Windsor and Sarah Byrne took the under-18 national title. Both teams were coached by James Byrne. It was a case of ‘third time lucky’ for the Bree club as their under-18 team had been runners-up position 2016 and the under-15 team with three of the current under-18 team were runners-up in 2015.

BREE BARNDANCE

YOUTH CLUB SUPERVISORS
Bree Youth Club needs more supervisors under new FDYS rules to facilitate the number of members currently in the club. If we do not get a sufficient number of supervisors we may have to limit the number of young people registering with the club for the coming year. Parents are strongly encouraged to get Garda vetted before Youth club resumes so that we may continue to provide a meeting place for the young people of the parish and surrounding areas. Garda vetting application forms can be obtained by sending your email address to 087 2319219.
BREE AC
The club had some great results last weekend in Tullamore at the National Juvenile Championships. Aoife Cloke Rochford finished second in the under-19 100m hurdles and third in the 100m sprint. Abbie Doyle had a super run in the under-12 60m and fought hard to claim the bronze medal. This medal is hopefully the first of many national medals for this young lady. Grace Donohoe in the under-12 Turbo Javelin finished just outside the medals in fourth place but threw a new personal best. The race of the day was, without doubt, Seán Rowley in the under-13 sprint where he claimed silver after a photo finish for the gold.
