reached an all-Ireland phase two senior football qualifier. Donal Shanley, Jim Rossitter and Joey Wadding did both themselves and the St Fintan’s GAA Club proud. When the draw for the qualifiers was made Wexford had drawn one of the toughest teams in the ‘pot’ in Monaghan Div 1 team that was expected to win an Ulster title only to be surprisingly beaten by Down. The game was played in Innovate Wexford Park and though well beaten the lads can hold their heads high. We look forward to having them back with the club inits quest for glory.

WALKATHON

St Anne’s Rathangan GAA Club are delighted to make you aware of our upcoming fundraising Walkathon, including a 24-hour walk, community auction and an evening of entertainment on the August Bank Holiday weekend. This fundraiser aims to fund the development of a new ball alley and hurling wall for the club.

To coincide with this, we are undertaking our very own ‘Dawn Walking Challenge’ to highlight mental health awareness and specifically support our local mental health awareness group ‘Ask’. Every GAA Club in Wexford is invited to send a minimum of one representative (or as many as you wish) in your club colours, to walk for one hour with us in the ‘Dawn Walking Challenge’ between 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, August 6 (refreshments provided).

All proceeds raised during the Dawn Walk will go directly towards ‘Ask’ to enable them to continue their tremendous work in the area of mental health awareness. The impact of 50 clubs across Wexford uniting together will send a very positive signal of their support to the wider community that we are now ready to tackle the issue of mental health head on.
