QUIZ NIGHT

O.L.I./Tacumshane senior citizens are holding a Quiz Night tomorrow, Wednesday, July 26, in the Lighthouse Bar, Carne at 9.30 p.m. There will also be a raffle with prizes galore. So please come along and support our local seniors on Wednesday night. Table of four €20.

LEO CARTHY WEEKEND

The annual Leo Carthy Weekend opens on Saturday, August 5, with a Variety Concert in OLI Community Hall at 8 p.m.

Performers on the night will include the Danescastl­e Music Group, Temple Michael Ceili Band, George Lawlor, Yvette Walsh, and comedy with the Ballycogle­y Players. Adm. €10 (OAPs €8)

Sunday, August 6, begins with a 6km Run. Registrati­on from 11: 30 race start at 12: 30. €10 entry fee with complement­ary refreshmen­ts. Live free open air music on the open air stage in the village from 12 to 30 6: 00 with numerous well-known local artists. There is a Mumming Exhibition with the Drinagh Mummers at 3: 30 accompanie­d by the Legendary Theresa and the Stars.

There will be lots of entertainm­ent for the kids (and big kids) with bouncy castles, and face painting, Football, darts, and milk-the-cow. Also crepes, tea and refreshmen­ts available on the day. This year we will also have a Sheep Race for the first time which promises to be great fun for all.

ANNUAL PATRON

The annual patron will take place on Sunday, August 13, with Mass in Lady’s Island at 3 p.m. followed by proceesion to cemetery for prayers and blessing of graves.

COFFEE SHOP

Community Centre Coffee Shop open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will have beautiful fresh home-baking and sandwiches on offer. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Our ‘New and Good As New’ shop is also open.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Bob Butler, Airhill on winning €205 in last week’s split-the-pot draw. Draw takes place in the Community Hall on Sunday after Mass. Thanks to all involved.

BREAKFAST MORNING

Tagoat Day Care Centre are holding a Breakfast Morning in the Day Care Centre, Tagoat, on Sunday next, July 30, starting at 9.30 a.m. and finishing at noon in aid of the centre.
