BLESSING OF PITCHES

As a gesture of gratitude for the immense support that the parish received this year in the Mayoral contest, a barbecue (free of charge) will take place in the newly constructed pitch at the school in Barntown. A child friendly event, there will be free burgers, sausages, ice cream and juice for all who attend.

Following refreshments, the pitch and astra turf pitch will be blessed and officially opened by the Mayor (His Worship Mr Tom Dempsey). All are invited to attend this little bit of history in the making. A meeting for all who are organising the bbq will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, at the school.

WE NEED BUNS

All food at the barbecue following the patron in Barntown will be supplied by the parish. One area that parishioners might like to help with is the baking of fresh buns. Buns are extremely convenient at a bbq as they don’t require plates or cutlery. Should anyone be willing to display their baking skills, buns can be dropped to the school from noon
