Reserve Southeast Bound makes most of chance GREYHOUNDS

THE WOODSIDE Nurseries (Aughrim) unraced stake final at Enniscorthy Dog Track was won in impressive fashion by the Daniel Frayne-owned Southeast Bound who had come in as reserve in the semi to win.

He followed up when he again had his rival, Lisnakill Husky, to pass as the latter led in the early stages.

Southeast was in prime position to challenge though, and came away up the home stretch to win by two lengths in a very good time of 28.88 to pocket the nice €2,000 prize.

The opening race was an S3/4 sprint and the very consistent Rathsilla Messi scored his 17th career victory when scoring by half a length from Town Shadow in a useful 19.17.

Messi is proving a great servant having been in the money 52 times from 88 starts.

On Thursday night Barntown owner George Roche had a nice double as his Reckinball was a very fast winner of the opening sprint, while Headford Iso returned to top form quickly when taking race four in a good 29.04.

Enniscorthyowner Dermot Flynn had another nice win when his Tagalong Highlander took heat three by two and a half lengths in a good 28.91.

There was a very fast run in race eight when the Karen and Stephen Parker-owned Airdown Rena produced a super run of 28.58 for a career best, beating Slaneyside Sofia by four and a half lengths.

Cosy Messi was trying the 575 yards trip for the first time in race seven and he enjoyed the longer run to the bend as he raced to a very comfortable win in a good 31.48 for owner Helen Toft.

More success over this type of trip is very likely in the coming months.

Racing continues at the track every Monday and Thursday.
