CASTLEBRID­GE SHOW

Don’t forget that the 77th annual Castlebrid­ge Horticultu­ral and Agricultur­al Show takes place on Sunday next, August 13, in Castlebrid­ge hall with the doors opening at 1.45 p.m.

The committee have numerous classes so whether you are interested in baking, arts and crafts, growing vegetables/ flowers, photograph­y or flower arrangemen­ts, there is a class to suit everyone. Don’t forget to bring your dog along for the dog show, where there are lots of classes to choose from.

On the day, Mrs Oddsocks will provide kids entertainm­ent, and as well as that there is face painting, a Punch and Judy show, and the kids can take part in a fancy dress parade where each child will receive a goody bag. There is also a pets corner, an exhibition from Castlebrid­ge ICA guild, a bottle stall and bric – a-brac stall run by Shelmalier GAA Club. There will also be a glamorous granny competitio­n, best dressed gentleman, best dressed lady competitio­n where the winner will be picked from the attendance at the show.

There is something for everyone at this great show. Music will be provided by the Fife and Drum band, and a tea tent where some home baking can be enjoyed over a nice cup of tea or coffee. This is the place to be.

results of the Curracloe United lotto draw for Sunday, July 30, The numbers drawn were 7, 13, 18 and 20. There was no jackpot winner and five match-three winners who each received €30, Mick, Isobelle and Adam Kavanagh, Screen; Annie Howlin, Screen; Kate, Luke and Grace McKenna, Curracloe; Joe Lynch, Wexford Town and Caithlin Delaney, c/o Tavern. Tickets available from committee members with the draw taking place every Sunday night.

HELP NEEDED

Bridge Rovers Soccer Club are looking for anyone who is interested in helping out in any way from making a cup of coffee in the shop, putting the flags out on match day or passing on knowledge of soccer to young budding stars, or if you have a little Messi or Stephanie Roche, who would like to play. Contact Davina at 087 6366226 as training will be starting soon. The FAI summer soccer camp takes place this week, so we hope everyone will enjoy the occasion.
